It was a great night last night. Looking forward to a great day today.
Cheers to the nudity and day drinking 🍻
Woo hoo 🍺
Perfect weather for it
I agree. Back to bed.
Mr P was supposed to go to a mate's place for a weekend of catching up with old friends, and we were all looking forward to it (me especially). But it fell through when someone Mr P doesn't like (for good reasons too lengthy to say here) kind of wormed their way in. So Mr P decided he wasn't going. Sigh. I mean, we've been getting along ok lately, but he's always here. I was looking forward to him not being here for a night or two at the start of the school holidays. I need a good night's sleep without someone going for a smoke/pee/snack every so often during the night. It's impossible in this damn place.
Neighbours are renovating, so it was banging and sawing and drilling all day. Then we ordered Maccas and they got the order wrong. No matter which Maccas I order from, or when or what I order, they always get the order wrong. It's a treat for the Minipeelers but it leaves me pissed off every time.
Now I'm relaxing in bed in a quiet darkened room sighs with contented relief. We're going to the library to return some books tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that, the calming quiet, minimal people and the smell of new library. Anyway, thanks for listening to my whinging!
so many hugs
your strength and patience and love is an inspiration
if there is anything we can do just ask 😘
I love my boyfriend. Like, he completes me. But the fact that he's always home kinda does my head in. I need some alone time. To do what? IDK, who care, it's the same shit I do when he's home, but it's different, you know? I can imagine you're on a whole different level, and oof, I'm sorry this weekend didn't work out how you hoped!!! Next door renos on top!
Hope the library is the retreat you deserve tomorrow!
Today we are going to visit a kiwi sanctuary. 🐤😍
here are some pics from yesterday 😊
Lovely pics - those waves look glorious! The shell collection is so pretty!
The waves and water is just so beautiful, the colour is that blue with the slightest green colour you seen in old glass . 😊
Nice shell haul!
Thank yooou, I love it, every single shell is new to me 😍
🤩🥰🤩🥰♥️
😘😘😘
Alrighty. Going to meet the new PT.
Here's hoping he's cool and can help fix my shoulder.
In other news, the reconfiguration I mentioned a few weeks ago is going well. Mood and energy levels have stabilised. Motivation is lower than normal but not too bad.
Edit:went great with the PT! Chill guy and showed me some great stuff for my shoulder.
Club bells / swings are good shoulder mobility exercise.
Sweet! Will add them in when I speak to the PT.
Spent the night achievement hunting in Exp 33. I can't let go of this game!!
I am so getting that when I get back to Oz 😊
I've played the best guitar in my life in the last 3 months. Getting off of suboxone was the right move.
The emotion to muscle memory connection/loop is so clear and strong its nuts.
this is great, so happy for you 😊😘🤗
I caught public transport because I wanted to drink and while it did take a fair bit longer it's pretty peaceful not having to deal with traffic and parking.
Omg YES! Boyo hates public transport, but dude, it's cheap and relatively easy. Deal with it!!
I wish I was rich. I’d buy a nice big house, withdraw from society and fill it with cats.
I'd build a hermits commune with a bunch of smaller houses where we could all withdraw to.
Can boyo and I join the commune? We'd bring cats and peace and keep to ourselves but share whatever we could that you needed but also respect your privacy cause we all need that!
That sounds great actually
You could buy in a nice safe area, have nice neighbours, nice community activities and fill it with cats too. 😊
You are too nice to keep yourself completely hidden away, everyone would be better off with you out there. 😘
I would love that.
Yea that sucks.
If your mum was told a week ago that's all on her. I'm sure there's probably a compromise here somewhere but your sis shouldn't feel bad about it if there's not. Sounds a bit manipulative.
I really doubt she doesn't know
I bet she can regulate very well when it's not something she wants or it's to her advantage
Yup.
My grandma is almost 80 years old as well which I feel is quite enough time to get yourself in check.
This jerked chicken is declared Do Not Touch Eyeballs or Cock. I repeat Do Not!
Let's see how long it lasts
I LOVE IT!
Cheers!
Really adds a bit of life to this dreary old place.
kiwis were the cutest thing i've seen all week other than mr seagoon
pictures coming soon, right now I'm off t the beach 😊
Some pics from the local museum and the beach ( I'm starting to feel gouged by museum prices )
Goregous, perfect day out there side from the occasional bouts of insane wind (amplified in the CBD wind tunnels). Had a perfect sleep in, no headache this time, and spent the day with a friend - treated to a lovely vegan restaurant for lunch and a nice long walk after then hojicha latte and a decadent slice of cake - came back to a tidy home that got properly aired out and gosh. What a difference the sun and a bit of warmth makes! My mood is fabulous, my nerves are calm, my body is happy and relaxed and life feels great. And the place is lovely and refreshed and I don't feel like I'm behind on life or anything. 💜
I didn't look at my phone all day and was enjoying watching other people on the tram - kids asking innocent questions, young people eagerly discussing their lives, blokes going on about the footy - rather than feeling annoyed and wanting to hide from the world. I even received a lovely compliment on my hair colour from an old lady who I thought was squinting at me weirdly because I was wearing the wrong thing or something... she was just trying to figure out what was going on with my hair. ☺️
Chilling out with PBS at home and gonna make some headway on this library book I've started (very promising so far); tomorrow will be a great big meal prep day. Jambalaya with vegan chorizo, roast fennel, what else...
After that beef ravioli, I’m still alive and well !
That is good to hear.
If you were not alive and still posting here that would actually be a bit alarming. I'm really not ready for a zombie apocalypse.
Clear and sunny with lots of wind = good drying weather. I am loving having some decent outdoor drying space in this place, everything smells better having been outdoors and the wind helps get rid of some of the excess pet hair and dust that's always around. I've already managed to do a load of clothes and a load of towels, I now have sheets on the line and another small load of clothes in the washing machine.
Goodnight all ❤️
I have made rice to go with butter chicken, yum yum!
yum yum yum 😊
Has anyone played the board games Heat or Wingspan? I heard they were good and they were on sale at EB so I picked them up. I want to make sure they don't sit on the shelf for ages and actually get played
Board games have a solid second hand market.
That makes sense. Over priced cardboard that doesn't get used much. Good to remember if we want to sell anything, but also for trying new games
I have the digital Wingspan edition on Switch
Wingspan is a good game but it has a few expansions out that improve the game.
As far as digital goes the Asia expansion just came out which I haven’t looked into.
I own Wrymspan as a boardgame because well…dragons.
Tried a new gym class this morning and while I got my ass handed to me, it feels pretty bloody good. Long way to go, but happy to make small steps!
💪🏼👏🏼 Go you!
Red Rooms (2024) movie review
A French Canadian psychological thriller (horror?)
A story about a woman’s obsession with an extremely disturbing murder trail. The accused is a man who tortures and kills young girls while live streaming on the dark web.
It’s a hideous and creepy pretext for a horror movie, however there is absolutely no gore, or jump scare, or boogie man under the bed.
It’s a story about Kelly-Anne (Juliette Gariépy). A very smart and attractive woman whose entire life starts to revolve around this trail and her fascination with the killer, the victims family, other serial killer groupies and true-crime junkies.
She is cold, calculated, and technically proficient. A cross between Patrick Bateman and Lisbeth Salander.
In the end, Kelly-Anne is able to facilitate some modicum of justice, but at a sadistic cost. The real mystery here is not the killer in the courtroom but what Kelly-Anne’s motivations are.
This isn’t a movie with clear answers and that might turn people off. It’s a slow burn. It’s ambiguous.
And I’m still thinking about it.
4.5/5 Bitcoin
Well, you've piqued my interest. Might check this out tomorrow!
Ohhh what an excellent review, this has me very intrigued!! Thank you for sharing!! How did you see it? Streaming or sailing the seas?
SBS on Demand or Apple.
Little miss was crying today and I was concerned. But I forgot to block off the chair seat and the second I turned my back she was up there. She’s going to be jarring her joints jumping up and down from that!
Edit: I was going to buy her pet ramps but she goes out of her way to jump off to the side to avoid any padding or ramps I improvise. She just wants to jump!
Could it be she’s okay, and is just crying because she wants extra wet food and to get up on furniture she’s not supposed to?
I take it all very seriously at her age though.
My lips are getting so dry.
I picked up one of those tinted lip balms to try and it’s quite moisturising …but I didn’t look and it contains castor oil. Which can be very drying and is a known irritant for me. DOH
Expedition 33 spoiler: ::: spoiler spoiler I BEAT SIMON. HOLY FUCK YES.
I was so apprehensive about it because, really, it's an optional fight and I was sad about not figuring that out about it before I finished the game because tbh I didn't realise it was optional so I finished the game going "wait what about Simon? Who is he?" (thanks to some accidental ONTD comments and otherwise) but then going back and finding him was very cool and his fight was the hardest thing I found and I hated it for that fact alone but also liked that it gave me something to grind towards (WoW player in her element) and omg the celebration when I killed the bastard... though I could listen to his soundtrack forever.

Sidenote: Boyo is playing Dune and absolutely loving it!! I'm meanwhile pouring another glass of pinot noir.
Third night of getting less than 8 hours of sleep. Only got five hours of sleep and I have to go to work 😭 probably because I drank coffee at like 2pm yesterday and used a giant PC.
I need to buy a present for a 1st birthday I’m going to next week (for a boy). I was thinking some clothes (bigger size he can grow into) and maybe a kid’s book? Any other ideas? Budget is $50 - $75.
Gin for the parents. Nothing for the kid.
Books are always good. Grab a sturdy binding edition of whatever 'classic' appeals to taste and inscribe it. It can be read to them now, and read by them when they grow into it. Maybe Magic Pudding?
My go to for that age group was bath toys, simple puzzles, those hard cardboard paged books, simple musical instruments (but nothing that's a choking hazard). At that age it's gotta be stuff that's ok to put in their mouth. You're on the money with bigger clothes: suddenly you're dressing them one morning and their clothes don't fit anymore!
The noisiest possibly toy in your budget.
Facebook managed to create duplicate listings so I woke up to a bunch more "is this available?" messages 🤣 No. No it is not.
I managed a nice late sleep in this morning. I intend to do very little today. Maybe a nice meandering dog walk, mixing up the new batch of dog food, and I should rescue the terrarium from the car as it is probably wondering where all the light's gone.
It doesn’t feel bone chillingly cold outside tonight for a change.
Pasta bake for dins, had some frozen leftover meat sauce and making the meal more interesting by adding lots of cheese and baking.
Finally watching s4 of preacher and it was filmed in melbs and they are very obvious about it being filmed in melbs and it's doing my head in a bit
Just christened the new soupmaker I got for the ol' girl / boy.
Morphy richards clarity thing.
Idea was to reduce use of the stovetop for her / less cleaning / quicker and probably safer.
First up, potat and leek. Shit that thing is fast. 21 mins. Maybe 5 mins of prep, 2 mins cleaning. Don't really eat that stuff but was actually surprisingly very good. Gave maybe 3-4 serves.
If she doesn't use it it'll still save me a shitload of time and hassle.
I hope everythings started to settle down man ❤️
Is it like an instant pot kinda thingo or more of a Thermomix? (gboard suggested "consultant" immediately after "Thermomix", urgh...)
I sincerely hope the Olds use it but if not at least it sounds like it'll come in handy for you. But yeah as Witch wisely advised you last week or so, hope it doesn't turn into you stepping in for everything.
The olds in my life are rapidly embracing this sort of technology and, I might add, placing a premium on anything that isn't too heavy to lift. I gotta look into some of them
it's basically just a kettle w/ a stick blender heh. Not quite thermomix those things are like 10x the price. Weight-wise this thing isn't too bad. It is simple though.
Witches' advice has been weighing on me heavily (and for that I can't thank her kindly enough for sharing her experience).
I still have more thinking to do :(
