I live in Boston. My parents have stayed at that hotel before while visiting me. I’m going to tell them to not consider it going forward.

I once drunkenly wandered into the women's restroom at a bar, took my piss after I couldn't find the urinals, got all the way to the washing my hands phase, me and a lady who was also minding her business locked eyes while she also washed her hands, we both triple took, then I said "ooops I'm not supposed to be here" then we both just cackled, and went about our business.
That's the end of the story, no one was upset, no one was assaulted, no one gave a single fuck and we both had a good laugh.

Very location dependent. I've no issue with trans women in the women's bathrooms but I don't want men in the women's bathrooms everywhere. Clubs, parties, homes, work office even, but mostly anonymous quiet public bathrooms, no. And it's about walking in and a man or group of men being in there already, plus being followed in.

If someone confronts you in a hateful way about your gender like this, maybe you suddenly become afraid for your safety (valid!) and spray them in the face with pepper spray.
When people ask what happens say you became afraid the stranger was trying to hurt you and put your body under threat because they were.
Might go over better in court if you wait until after they are asking to see your private parts.
No judgement to anyone, but I think pepper spray is a better option here because bigots want you to be a threat which makes resisting hard because resistance can be so easily propagandized as a violent threat.

None of this ever was an issue in the past until Republicans started pushing bullshit natives that noone cared about before to keep people distracted with a shiny turd whole they rob the state blind
Step 1: Raise concern
Step 2: Security calmly lets the person know that some of the other patrons are feeling uncomfortable because they think the person is male/female.
Step 3: Person will say they're female or identify as one.
Step 4: Security says OK (maybe apologize for the inconvenience).
Step 5: Let other patrons know. Anyone still uncomfortable can wait until the person leaves or use a different toilet.
That's really it. There's no reason for an officer to ask for proof or ask them to get out if all they're doing is using the bathroom.
I think some of the snarky replies you are getting is a result of users assuming you're asking a hypothetical just to ruffle feathers when the answer to your question is this simple.
If they are really so scared of trans. Why not just put an alarm button in the bathrooms? That's triggers a loud alarm and calls security? Seems easy
