  • The meat and dairy industry use vastly more water and also contribute to climate change through greenhouse gas emissions, while almond trees help to reduce CO2. Maybe focus on that instead of buying into the animal ag propaganda.

  • Have you considered adoption? There are SO many kids out there who need loving homes. If you're worries about children regretting their existence, at least you could provide a safe place for those that are already here and also fulfill your desire to be a parent.

  • I just watched Didi and it seems to do a great job with the millennial coming of age story. They're a bit younger than me, but I related a lot to the characters and setting.

Dunno if it's THE definitive movie, just thought I'd recommend because it's recently on my mind.

  • Years ago, when I lived in Boston, a realtor company mistakenly sent me a letter meant for my landlord. It said something like, "rentals are lucrative and prices keep rising! You should maximize your yearly lease price increases to make more money."

The brokers get a full months rent fee in Boston just for showing the apartment, so this was really infuriating.

  • And now you can take this reasoning and think about all the millions of innocent animals killed every day for meat, often in ways that could easily be considered torture if people didn't pretend it wasn't happening / justified for their taste buds.

  • Buying a modern record on vinyl often comes with a code to download the digital version in a high quality format. Check the item description to see if it's included. You could buy it, download the music, and then sell the record to a local shop or donate it if you can't keep it when you travel.

Alternatively, buy the CD and use a disk drive, if you have access to one, to rip the music into a computer.

  • The point is to show that Heathcliff is almost always unnecessary to the original comic, to the point where removing him changes little if anything about the joke. It also highlights how the jokes are lame and barely make sense with our without Heathcliff.

  • I think it's credited as one of, if not the first, show to flip the sitcom formula on it's head in terms of protagonists. Before, shows were about good people having to deal with conflicts and coming out on top. Seinfeld was about bad people creating conflicts and then failing to resolve them. This is particularly evident in the finale when the show ends with them all in jail instead of each character getting their own happy ending.
