I've heard of pay to play games becoming free to play, but a free to play game going pay to play?
The only benefit I could see (if this actually happened with anything; I get this is just a glitch) is maybe there would be fewer cheaters because it's harder to buy a new game (especially if it's $50-70) than make a new free account.

I've heard Gigantic (a 3rd person PvP hero shooter) will become pay to play when it's revived. Also, the benefit would be they wouldn't need battle pass and other FOMO monetization tactics to support the game
