Are they trying to "Indian give" it? Which was a racist childhood term I've almost completely stopped using, but this situation does call for it.
- For Native Americans. Colonisers looked at items given in trade as gifts. It's apt that this is very much not a gift, but it's the wrong nation for the pun.
