  • Well… playing devil’s advocate here… I’d argue that DeSantis is markedly more qualified than Hegseth. DeSantis has at least performed the duties of an administrator and has an understanding of how to operate a bureaucracy.

How well he’s been able to do these things is completely up to debate. But when comparing the two to each other, DeSantis is the no brainer pick.

AND once Ronnie falls out of Donny’s good graces, he’ll be out of a job, and out of Tallahassee…

  • Ahhh… that’s what one of the announcers was saying, but it totally looked like a mouthpiece adjustment to me, more than a biting something.

    Regardless, Iron Mike wasn’t himself.

  • Yeah, Paul was bouncing around like an idiot. Tyson didn’t have his legs and kept fucking around with his mouthpiece.

The whole fight looked like a kid who took a couple boxing lessons at the local fight gym challenged someone’s grandpa who used to fight.

  • In what universe do those other power generation methods even come close to nuclear power?

It would take about 800 wind turbines or 8.5 million solar panels to replace the power output of one nuclear reactor.

And the fissile material can be reprocessed after it’s been spent. Like 90% of the spent fuel can be reprocessed and reused, but the Carter administration banned nuclear waste recycling in the US for fears it would hasten nuclear proliferation.

Wind, hydro, solar, and geothermal are all great. Anything is better than coal or gas power generation. But to say these green power generation methods come close to nuclear… not a chance.

  • Yeah, the hypocrisy is fucking rife.

I had a similar feeling when they had that Field of Dreams game several in 2021 b/w the ChiSox and Yankees. Kevin fucking Costner walks his ass out to the mound and gives a lovely speech, and didn’t say one god damned word about Shoeless Joe Jackson.

  • Holy shit… totally not the response I expected either.

But to my point, I know a handful of career civil servants and they’re pretty passionate about their roles and try to do a good job… unlike fucking lunatics like Canon who are supposed to be apolitical but politics dictate every action they take…

  • Eh… large swaths of government try to be efficient… it just keeps tripping over its own feet and all the red tape lying around.

Seems to me like the majority of this nonsense is more typical of the portion of the government that employs by appointment.
