  • Also has the highest rate of website take-downs/bans. To be fair: mostly revenge “naked pictures of my ex” websites. But yeah. Piracy + Germany = not good. You’d rather turn to the Netherlands for that.

  • Oh. You’d be surprised the cluster-f#k you have to deal with as a web dev. I can’t tell you how many times I had to fix sh#t that Ad-companies screwed up with their dumb inject scripts. They are so aggressive… no wonder anyone should block them at any cost.

My favorite bug caused by ads-scripts was, that no customer could check out anymore as their stupid scripts removed any nested scrollbars

  • What if, and here me out here, what if, and that’s a crazy thought, what if cars don’t have be ridicules in size and battery capacity is actually used more efficiently rather than carrying dead weight.

  • I remember switching from German QWERTZ to US QWERTY, as a dev, and suddenly putting all these brackets became so much easier and it all made sense. On German layout you need Alt Gr. A lot (which is Alt + CTRL)

  • Frankfurt International (FRA). As long as it’s not terminal 2 for American Airlines.

Never had long queues there. Always the cheapest flights. Solid choice of restaurant.

Just wish the signs for the monorail were more prominent and less confusing

  • That’s so true. Drove my fiat panda with 180 (dunno how I got it there. It was downhill for sure) and it was absolutely terrifying.

Later drove an Audi A6 with 230. Obviously fast but nowhere near terrifying.

Another time a company Ford Mondeo (Diesel) 240 and it felt like sitting in a train.

I want to stress that I never kept those speeds for long. It was rather seeing how fast I can go in a setting that allowed it with minimal risk for everyone involved. I must say that I don’t see the thrill in driving that fast. Everything is so exhausting to pay attention to.

  • I’ve heard that it’s problematic to log them as there isn’t enough sawmills in the US to cover the given and they are all low on staff + those mills are standardized for those Standard sized trunks and not old-growth forest wood.

That doesn’t mean I doubt it but that’s some hope on the horizon

  • Some suggestions:

    • Bitwarden (US based but with EU hosting, free tier, open source)
    • proton-pass (Swiss based with free tier)
    • Keepass (open source system, free “self-hosted” through cloud saves)
    • 1pass (Us based, paid tiers only)
    • Lastpass (US based, free tier. Lots of breaches in the past so I can’t recommend)
