The primary problem is most people don’t understand inflation. Inflation is the speed at which things get more expensive. There is always creep up.
That’s what the 3% “cost of living” yearly raise is supposed to cover. It’s not really a “good job” raise, it just keeps your wage exactly the same as the prior year alongside inflation. Another thing a lot of people don’t understand, but that’s a bit of a digression.
So. Inflation speeds or slows but never reverses. Prices never go back down unless there’s recession. When the DC people talked about the economy being good they meant, in part, that inflation was fixed. We were back to 3%. The problem with that is it doesn’t bring down the price of anything. It only means that prices stopped jumping up so high compared to 2019.
So this idea that 2016 prices would return with Trump is based in a misunderstanding of economics. Prices don’t go back down.
In fact, like the COVID jump, I wouldn’t be surprised if the egg industry left prices up once the avian flu passes.
All the extension office university data on plants, agriculture, etc. It’s invaluable info for anyone who grows their own food and deals with bees in relation to that food growth.
I think so. Like fallout 3 vs new Vegas the second has more polish, always.
You’re Corvo in the first one. You see your love and Empress killed in front of you, your daughter kidnapped, and you blamed. You escape. Now, you need to find your daughter. It leads into playing as Emily in game 2. Witches backstory as well.
It’s a game for people who like to play rogues. Frankly, I love it. Sniper cheese is available everywhere.
Dishonored 2 is in my top 5. The crafting of the Crack in the Slab chapter alone is masterful.
Even in DND, there’s an evil requirement to specialize in assassin, so it makes sense that things get darker on that path. Regular rogue, you can still be good. There are very, very few games that allow for pure stealth runs, Dishonored happens to be one of them.
I haven’t done office in a while. The inception of the subscription model killed it completely for me. Scrivener is better organized for big projects. And there’s plenty of small word programs that get the job done for things like resumes and such, in lieu of Microsoft Word.
I had an older student office disc. Microsoft wouldn’t allow installation.
And then Adobe stealthed onto my elderly parents computer and killed all their photo files. Demoralizing to say the least. They won’t even engage their favorite hobby any more.
The only way to tell the difference between good and evil Spock: the goatee.
TOS is underrated.
As for Elon. The context of a person is everything. The guy keeps allying with the far right, nazi political group in Germany. Maybe not QED level but Elon’s actions speak loudly on the topic regardless.
I don’t do ads. Seeing them after years of not has a profoundly negative effect on my brain. A slight fog akin to waking up after using Benadryl as a sleep aide, and a hazing of attention capacity.
I’m not going to pay for that impact on
my thinking. It certainly won’t improve the world to have more of it.
Think about the scene in Fight Club where the homework is to go out and start a fight. It isn’t easy. Most people have never hit another person their entire lives. Men who punch walls or tear their shirts off to throw down with someone over perceived offenses are not the normal. That’s tail of the bell curve behavior. If it wasn’t, people would be fighting in parking lots everywhere you go.
The inertia of most peoples lives is to avoid conflict. This is why only a handful of people in any building you happen to be standing in are suited to leadership roles.
Now, if you can get one of those guys in the right conditions to stir up a mob hive mind then the game changes. Until then, most people will be propelled forward by inertia and conflict avoidance.
I’m listening to the 2020 Behind the Bastards on Elon. I like this cast in that you get a full picture, including childhood. Memet Oz: we learn of daddy issues and that he actually was a good surgeon back in the day. Zuckerberg: we learn that FB began as a social wank site for ranking women and that Zuck is heavy into samurai swords.
Elon, apparently, has a CHA score of somewhere in the 8-10 zone and is very overshadowed by his brother on that score.
We felt it last year. A building up of something. A sense of impending doom. Feelings of grim.
Things are worse especially with Trump making noises about using the American military to take resources. I don’t know who put the Panama canal and Greenland into his head but here we are. He is a guy who would do it too. Making us axis and not ally this go. That’s grim.
Pick and choose your outlets but don’t stick your head in the sand.
This needs more upvotes. There’s no way these should cost more than meat, whatever the excuse.
