  • Ok dude I'm sick of the "Genocide Joe" sycophants cropping up in unrelated threads all over Lemmy too, but if you're gonna argue with them, at least try to make some sense.

Don't support Israel = Jews get exterminated down to the last man because all of the Arabic countries bordering them openly vow to never stop killing until they're all gone.

Do uh... Do you think every single Jew in existence lives in Israel?

  • The Epic Games Store is a user data collection platform first, and a pretty bad game store/client second. It's slow, buggy, difficult to navigate (though that's somewhat subjective), and sometimes doesn't work without an Internet connection, even for games you already have downloaded locally and installed.

Disclaimer: I understand that any games store, including Steam, collects user data. But at least those other stores provide working, user friendly features in exchange for the data collection they do.

  • Ooooh nice, an enlightened Libertarian, and one that thinks that Americans are special, unique little snowflakes, different from the rest and immune to the rules that have historically governed the entirety of humanity for millennia

  • I imagine it's a combination of a thermometer plus the bi-metallic switch mechanism to prevent the kettle from boiling dry, with the assumption that you'll generally just be boiling water near sea level in them. I wonder if the nicer ones have like a calibration mode or something where you can adjust the temperature setting for different altitudes though 🤔
