  • ok again you’re addressing different things. i’m not asking for reasoning as to why it’s an understandable amount to pay, i’m looking for an explanation behind the price increase.

the comment you replied to originally was pondering the same thing, and you replied with why you think $20 is worth it. hence my being confused, as it seems you’re just having a different conversation here.

  • did you reply to the wrong person? what you said doesn’t really have any bearing on their thing. they still don’t have $20 to burn, and this is still a whacky price increase that lacks meaningful reasoning.

i’m glad you can reconcile that price to yourself, but the “just something to consider” reads as though this were a logical conclusion everyone should come to, and it simply isn’t.

  • lil reminder that this was posted to the liftoff community. the sheer volume of comments echoing the same “fuck you for complaining, you’re wrong” sentiment would really make you wonder. it’s not like you wandered, drunk, into their community and started shit talking sync.

coincidentally that does seem to be what most of the sync-stans in here have done, though.

  • god, honestly this has kinda turned me off even trying sync at all. liftoff works fine, and these devs are neither asking me for money, nor showing me advertisements.

i sincerely hope no one is out here thinking they’re gonna earn a living with an unofficial-app for a fledgling social media service, for which there currently exists no fewer than ELEVEN other fully featured apps in the google play store.

  • last time I was on a delta flight they unbelievably had those thick, heavy, foodservice style coffee cups. in a perfect world this wouldn’t have happened, but in a just-slightly-better-than-ours world, this dumb fuck spent most of those 9 hours doctoring a concussion.

  • right now i’d rather devs focus on making proton-friendly games than native linux builds. mirroring your experience, i can think of several native ports that were completely non-functional while proton ran them with no problem.

anecdotally, i’ve personally had some games run better on linux with proton than they did on the same system in native windows. i’m unsure if this is due to regular windows background bloat eating too many resources, or if linux just does a better job of multithreading. average cpu usage per core is very nominal, whereas on windows 1 or 2 cores are frequently seeing spikes in the 80-90% when i’m just browsing.
