  • Using “diversity” or “inclusive” as a bad word.

Using 88 without reason (or 1488).

There’s also people using the term “Monday” to refer to black people. (So they can say “I hate Mondays” and stuff without it being immediately obvious).

“Those [kinds of] people” is another pretty transparent one.

In Canada, there was “traditional Anglo-Saxon words”, lol

None of these seem apolitical to me. I would associate most of these with right wing philosophies. I was specifically looking for examples of apolitical dog-whistles.

  • One thing that shouldn't be ignored is most UBI proposals remove the current means-based welfare in the USA. So, as many people go on the UBI list, many others would disappear off the welfare lists, which means there probably wouldn't be as much disruption as you are expecting. If the UBI is implemented as a negative income tax, some people's net may change even less.

  • Thanks for some consideration of my post.

…acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such

If you take for granted Nazi Germany is a national group, the aim of WW2 was to totally wipe this group, to the extent that post-war activities in the German theater were even called "denazification" by the Allies. Destruction / fiddling with Germany only abated when Nazism was pushed to the extreme fringes of German society (indeed, some ragged remnants remain even until today). If 100% of Germany supported the Nazi party, they would have been totally liquidated without further consideration or hesitation.

At least part of my current frustration with the term 'genocide' being lobbed around is that the horrors in Gaza sadly aren't novel -- they are just the latest of a long string of atrocities. Check out the Armenian genocide, Pol Pot's activities, etc for some easy parallels. I'd rather see an in-depth discussion of what exactly wrong or immoral the IDF is doing than just the drive-by "genocidal" accusation, which over-abstracts the actually quite abhorrent things happening on the ground and is a thought-terminating cliche.

  • If you want 3rd parties to be a viable option, you need to vote Democrats.

HOO. That would be like democrats voting for their own destruction. One of the only things Republicans and Democrats agree on is our current 2 party system, as it perpetuates them into eternity without any real competition and enable them to use wedge issues to get votes instead of doing actual work.

  • This is a quote that should end in 'yet'. I am very confident in saying there will be an AAA game released that will be designed and implemented 95%+ by a machine. I am less confident in providing a timeline. If you consider the history of machine learning is ~70 years old (in one sense, one can argue other dates) and you plot the advances from tic-tac-toe to what machines can do today (chess being a prime example), it doesn't take much vision to see that it won't be but a matter of time before this is a real thing.

  • The OE defines genocide as "the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group". Christians don't fall into the bucket of nation OR ethnic group.
