  • Very similar to IRC from what I understand, but a different and newer system designed to work with the current fediverse. I haven't fiddled with it yet, but im in the process of standing up a social media server for my family and friends and will likely be using it.

Just trying to weigh my options, so I figured if ask about IRC.

    Check out matrix here

  • I know deleted by creator isn't the original post but, it does sound like a spooky game

  • I see it more as a tax. While you can evade taxes in a political system, you're supposed to be paying them if you're voting.

  • Yeah if it was -150 or -1500 I'd be like, yeah that's weird. But fifteen randos hating wow and its users? More likely.

  • Genuine question:

Is IRC somehow better or more secure than Matrix?

  • Word. This seems to make my ARR stack easier. I'll probably get some torrents running before too long but for building a library, I'm sticking with Usenet. Then I'll go back to torrents and things like soulseek for more obscure or individual things

  • No, I do mean that genuinely.

Your initial reply rubbed me the wrong way since I was trying to help but that doesn't mean I don't wish you luck! Everyone's situation is different and i know fuck-all about Australia's healthcare system lol

  • Usenet. Like a little over $100 a year for a news host and an indexer or two and you get quality music downloads of basically anything, depending on your indexer. Once you've got most of what you want, just stop paying and you still have your music or TV or w/e you download, and there's no real need to worry about a VPN.

  • Try Adzenys.

I like it better than adderall and I haven't experienced any shortage where I am in the states, while friends can't get their Addy.

  • Good, don't lol

Lots of people do know a lot about these things and were previously hindered by an inability to manufacture the drugs themselves.

There are plenty of docs and chemists who would willingly do this underground because they actually want to help people.

  • Most honest thing I've read this year.

  • Sorry, I'd have said the name initially, I've just got one of those brains that doesn't always cooperate when it's needed.

Anyway, it's called "Dearrow" and it's pretty cool. Check it out!

  • I've tried a few different front ends for fun in the past and they're fun to tinker with, I'll admit. I don't think I used freetube.

Also it was some months ago, but the biggest issue I found was that I couldn't sync watch lists. I could add subs and things but if I watched something on my phone, whatever front-end on my computer would tell me I still hadn't watched that video and recommend it.

Is there a way around this? Because, that's a huge deal breaker for me. As an end goal, I want less Google in my life, but there are certain inconveniences I am unwilling to tolerate (however seemingly small lol).

Anyway, I may start tinkering again soon. Thanks for the reply!

  • Out of curiosity, what's is better about it than YouTube?

Vanilla YouTube is obvious, but I've got ublock origin , sponsor block and that thing that renames stuff to non click bait.

It all just works and I don't get adds and I keep all my sub's and still get useful suggestions.

On android i just use revanced.

So, what's the pull of downloading a 3rd party for Linux / PC?
