Good, this gives me a little hope that the rest of the world is starting to understand how awful the US is, and that there just might be a few actual consequences for that awfulness.

Of course they will. The Democratic Party’s only bedrock ideological stance is preserving neoliberal capitalism. All of their other supposed policy positions are merely fundraising slogans. If you feel compelled to downvote this comment because you rightfully want to mount an opposition to the fascist Republicans, please consider how ineffective Democrats have been in that effort for 40 years and start reforming the party. If you need help, it starts with actual standards and policies.

Not sure where you got ‘humble’ from. Humble has nothing to do with it. He wants his class to dominate the world. Even his rhetoric about the US dominating the world is mostly just political pandering in service of his desire to reestablish a feudal lord hierarchy. He wants the peasants to be put in their place, under he and is kind, where they can serve him. Nothing about this is complex, new or surprising.

Because we live in the stupidest timeline, in the dumbest country in history, surrounded by easily distracted spoiled morons with bad taste.

I’m calling for killing the king, should we ever get one in the United States. I’m not saying that the president is a king, I’m just saying that if someone were to become a king, instead of a president, they should be executed.

One of these ghouls that I rarely hear brought up in these discussions is Steve Jobs’ widow, Laurene Powell Jobs. I believe that she is involved in the effort to build something like this in Solano County, California. She’s supposed to be a big Democratic Party supporter, so I suspect that the effort to create corporate cities is not an exclusively Republican project. I wish there was more reporting on her.

Given that this administration is now arresting and deporting people for speech, it will not take much for ‘vandalism is terrorism’ to become ‘speech is terrorism’ when it comes to Tesla. Coming up on this trajectory are: people getting arrested for boycotting Tesla, people getting arrested for posting memes about Tesla, people getting arrested for the hate crime of flipping off Tesla drivers, Tesla ownership as a protected class.

Elon is such a loser. He built a fortune on government contracts, reselling carbon credits, and committing labor and SEC crimes. He then turned around and is dismantling the government that made all that possible, and is now relying on that government to shore up his failing market position and protect him from the buying public.
