  • Data hoarder identified.

This thinking is why my mother's house is full of useless crap that she thinks belongs in a museum.

What museum? The broken camera-chipped pottery-photographs of children museum?

  • It is a sad fact that raging against the tipping system by not tipping is only making the lives of tipped workers more miserable under the current system.

You aren't proving a point or changing anything when you stiff your bartender/server, you are only guaranteed lesser service should you choose to return to the place.

The system sucks, but not tipping isn't solving anything. Voting and political action are needed to change the current state of affairs.

Or, vote with your wallet, buy a bottle of liquor, and drink at home.

  • I understand where you are coming from, but haven't there been locales in the past where you tipped before service to let your server know you are magnanimous?

I could be wrong, but I swear I read this in a European travel guide from the late 90s.

  • They also don't want junkies to shoot up in them and nod off/OD and die on the premises.

*Edit to say I don't agree with limited public toilets. Just posting another reason why they don't exist in some places.

  • I worked for a UK based fashion retail business and they always found it blushingly charming when I referred to what they called a 'bum bag ' a 'Fanny pack'.

Also, 'Pardon me!' Doesn't mean excuse me in UK English. It's more an excuse for if you do something disgusting that you are ashamed of, like if you fart or burp.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that was my take away the couple years I worked with British people.
