  • This is exactly why I do not buy android. I’ve been so close to switching from iOS so many times. But I keep my devices for a long time before upgrading. I always stop pushing through when I think about support for updates from the manufacturer.

  • That’s OK. Lemmy doesn’t need to be huge and we have had a lot of apps developed for it and there have been a lot of donations to help the platform grow. I think it is large enough now to survive and will slowly grow over time.

Just wait for the next big Reddit mistake. People will come over to Lemmy again and it will be a better place than last time.

  • I guess my concern is getting a second hand phone and it lasting 2 months. I’m not opposed to some things second hand, but I’m not interested in second hand tech that cost any decent amount of money.

  • I’m too worried about am getting a second hand phone. Who knows what the seller isn’t telling me about it.

I bought a laptop second hand and it’s only like a year old, but after getting it home you start to notice the problems. Like, randomly the keyboard stops responding.

Tech is too expensive to take risks on, but I try to keep my tech until it’s unusable.

The problem I’m facing at the moment, is that everything seems to be breaking at the same time.

  • USA! USA! USA!

Seriously, what the hell went wrong? I’m from the states and my wife is from a third would country. We are both just living here. Living in America seems like a nightmare now.

I’ve been here for like 5-6 years now. My sister decided to homeschool her children due to shootings. Luckily, she used to be an elementary teacher and her oldest son is easily completing the material he would be learning at his current age.

But still, why would people go there at this point?

  • This was a thing on Reddit as well.

I think it came from the headlines in a few articles that would say things like an asteroid the size of a car… and an asteroid the size of an elephant and two giraffes.

I think after a while it became an accepted meme to just report the size of the asteroid by comparing it to something random instead of just posting the metric size.
