I use news, gPodder sync app, TimeManager and Deck all with the corresponding android apps (AntennaPod for Podcasts). Also nextcloud office (collabora), The music player and obviously files, calendar, contacts. I'm sure I forgot some :)
Explaining a joke is always great fun so here we go: This is an obviously borderline braindead statement made by a person who seemingly thinks they would bring up a strong, valid argument.
I totally agree! I would much rather use lemmy with a proprietary client than reddit with a FOSS client. But when I have the choice to install something from f-droid instead of aurora store, its an easy choice. Also, wefwef works perfectly for me, so why install anything at all xD
Fun fact (made up based on personal experience): Most cat persons also like dogs but most dog persons don't like cats. So cat people are generally more reasonable human beings.
I have a better idea: Instead of piracy, just don't use/consume products that are exclusively distributed through shitty business models. At least when it comes to software, that's much more effective.
I've been using it forever and I actually don't think that much has changed. It has finally gotten some necessary builtin features that previously needed plugins (carddav, caldav) and the UI has been cleaned up a bit, but generally there are no game changers here. So why didn't you use it before 115?
Yes, but he's doing it because he values the technological advantages of rust as a systems programming language, not because he likes to punish coders. In fact, rust has been the most loved programming languge for 7 or 8 years in a row now according to the big stack overflow survey, so it doesn't make much sense for the purpuse of punishment.
This satiric picture resonates with a certain community of conservative and overconfident C-programmers. It has been created by bryan lunduke, who is a reactionary dumb fuck.
Edit: I agree with other commenters, that it's a bad idea to convert from one lossy codec to another one! If you want to do it anyway (and your files are at least encoded with high bitrates >192k), I'd recommend this:
The best lossy audio codec by far is opus (best perceived quality vs. small file size), which also has the benefit that it's free and has got a great open source reference implementation that is also integrated in ffmpeg. So the conversion can be done with ffmpeg. I would personally use fd-find for multithreaded batch processing (using the -x option).
