  • That's an important observation. A big part of the "authoritarian follower" personality is a desire to be "normal", to be like everyone else. If they think everyone just accepts Harris won they may not be happy about it but they'll be more likely to accept it.

  • You know they're ready and waiting to do a repeat performance of Bush v Gore. It doesn't even need to be close, just take long enough to finish the count (see: PA being notoriously slow and probably quite important this time) that the Court has time to invent a decision.

  • There are voices inside Israel opposing this, but it sounds like (i don't have personal knowledge) all the moderates got co-opted. The opposition voices don't get any media play, not in the US at least. Some Israeli press covers them, or used to at least.

  • I was a lowly bottom tier asshole at the time (doing senior work, just didn't get the title) so managers would just put shit on my calendar and assume i would clear everything for their pet project. Then they got upset with me when that didn't happen.

  • Once, i had an entire day double booked (plus multiple hours before and after my working hours) and one hour in particular was quadruple booked. People were shouting at me all day about how I wasn't showing up to their meetings, but like... you could see my calendar when you put those appointments on there. That's kind of on you.

I got a talking to from my boss but they didn't reprimand me or anything, it was just "managing these kinds of things is an important part of the job". Eh. They did not pay me enough.

  • Even aside from being fascists they're just fucking weird. Going around with cum jars with JD Vance's name on it? What the hell?

They've always been like this, the Democrats (and media) have just been ignoring it because it would be "impolite" to point out. It's so nice to hear that changing, even a little bit.

  • She knew whether an offense had been committed.

That doesn't prove it to anyone else, of course, but it doesn't seem like anyone is (now?) contesting the the offense in question was committed. Just that he got off free and she had no recourse. This is not a one time event, either, it's a pattern where the law fails to protect people in this situation and then throws the book at them if they take matters into their own hands. If she had not, do you think this dude would still be free? Or would the law have eventually caught up to him, after who knows how many more victims?
