  • Is this the plot to Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said?

    • Stellaris
    • Baldur's Gate 2
    • Starcraft
    • X4: Foundations
    • Papers Please
  • 2TB on Mega but thinking of switching to Nextcloud. 18TB (2 18TB drives striped mirrored) locally in my NAS, saving for 2 more

  • I'm assuming it's at least partly related to the decades of underinvestment in the water network

  • I'd say so just for the easier compatibility with non-mobi files and Calibre library syncing

    • Pixel 9 Pro phone
    • Framework 13 laptop
    • SFF PC for living room gaming
    • Desktop PC in the office (to be sold)
    • Kindle paperwhite
    • Steam deck (to be sold)
    • Surface Pro 9
    • HP Microserver

The laptop and SFF PC have EndeavourOS on them, desktop and SP9 Pop!_OS, Kindle is jailbroken. I have wanted to get GrapheneOS on the phone but hate to admit that I love the convenience of contactless payments too much

  • UK, 25 days annual leave which is the standard minimum plus bank holidays

  • How nice of Google to highlight another Drive/One competitor to me.

Any reviews/feedback from current Nextcloud users? I do plan to eventually self host but would start off using storage included in the plan

Edit: many thanks for all the responses! I think I'll stick with my current Drive alternative for now (Mega) but will start reading up on the technical docs/requirements for Nextcloud, as I do want to self serve in the long run

  • Have you tried mainline just to diagnose whether it's the kernel that's the issue or something else? Fwiw using mainline myself with EndeavourOS which is easyArch, no issues pairing or playing with my dualsense controller out of the box

  • Finally decent software support which is nice to see. But for the price, Sony really should have updated the old, old, telephoto and also added a discrete DAC for audio. Still good battery life but not amazing like the VI

  • The only Headhunter that works for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1cRGVaJF7Y

Edit: to answer seriously, I've not heard of this personally but a friend was headhunted to a part time role that paid almost as much after commute as her previous position. So, it can work out for both parties at least

    • Str: 8
    • Dex: 10
    • Con: 12
    • Int: 11
    • Wis: 10
    • Cha: 12

Pretty boring tbh, I don't get sick very often at all and can forrest gump it for ages. My Cha at 21 would probably be 11 but I do think I've developed a decent amount just through life experience/learning how to build rapport quickly with new colleagues and acquaintances who have become friends

  • I used to go a lot around then, idk why (youth maybe?) but we weren't that scared... maybe because it was a tradition of our group after the music on Sunday night to go on an adventure around the campsite, making friends with random other camps sharing drinks, uh various substances and generally chilling with randoms. So even though we were aware of all the chaos and mayhem going on around, we just cared about chatting gods-knows what to people we'd never met before

Now I do remember the bottling 50 Cent got in '04, my mate threw a camping chair on the stage. Funny back then, still funny now

  • Panopticon are also notable in combining bluegrass and black metal

  • But the year's only just star... ohhhh whoops.

Pretty interesting so far, left a job for the first time due to burnout only to get a significant step up in role.... to team who are pretty much similarly overworked. Will try to stick it out for the CV, at least the new CEO seems to have his head screwed on properly.

Externally, lots of scary news about the rise of Reform and the lack of mainstream alternatives here is sad but I also started volunteering for the Green Party. Just leafletdropping as I thought I should try to do something positive politically

  • Personally, no, though I recently quit a job due to burnout. I've had a lot of luck in enjoying or at least being able to easily tolerate the company of 98% of my coworkers. There's definitely people I've worked with who are eager to climb the ladder, but at least manage to put on a good front/put it aside to some degree for the good of the company

  • 5Ah is standard for a phone of that size, but GSMArena's tests show it underperforms given the capacity. Hopefully Motorola can improve it with updates? And I'm not sure how good custom ROM support is on their phones, it's definitely an option as you say but all phones should have at least 5 years of security patches imo.

  • Seems like a solid phone for the price, shame about the battery life and only 3 years of security updates
