  • It was barely tolerable, then they gated proper noise cancellation behind some AI privacy destroying BS. Excellent choice, fu Microsoft

  • Oh man, and then some. Promising playoff run season before last only to pretty much get kicked to the curb last season

  • All good, thanks for taking those features into consideration. I'm a mod on two communities but have only just been added to one, the other is very quiet i.e. I've not needed to do any modding

  • Assuming you mean ice and not field, it's not popular here in the UK with football (soccer) dominating but I've been to some local games, very fun to watch even though ofc the standard is pretty bad hah. One of the TV channels here used to show NA sports late at night so I got into NHL as a teen using my dad's VHS player to record parts of games. I was the weird kid at school who used to bring in NHL 2001 or ESPN NHL Hockey on Xbox

Unfortunately I'm a Canucks fan lol, though I did catch Rangers-Blackhawks in 2015 at MSG when I visited NYC which was awesome!

  • Only managed to see him with Madeon on the Shelter tour, not usually my thing but that track was so good and yeah the vibes were immaculate!

  • That'd be great, thanks! The Reports page like the site would be as much as I'd want due to Lemmy's own limited feature set currently, with tabs for unread/all, all/comments/posts

  • Does Blorp support mod actions? I love Thunder but am trying out Summit as it has these

  • Seen Porcupine Tree a few times, Steven Wilson once, awesome stuff

  • My fave artist, Borusiade, is quite niche and arguably their style of music had it's peak in the electronic scene around 2017-21 so it'll be a long shot to see them now sadly.

  • Just co-signing this, not just for things like gamepads (understandably a focus) but even things like thunderbolt docks, eGPU enclosures and more.

Those two are high up in my mind as I recently moved to a laptop based setup in my office but would love more graphical power when needed. As it is, I'm having issues with the mouse and keyboard attached to my WD19TB Dell dock only working occasionally. Getting into the detail of updating it with fwupdmgr now

  • Awesome, still never made it to Stonehenge yet. You'll have a blase! Annoyingly, I'm London for a few gigs next weekend or Saturday for the Solstice would be ideal

  • A future wave and welcome, bring your brolly! Whereabouts will you be visiting?

  • Music is central to my life, so upcoming releases, gigs, clubnights and festivals are my escapism drugs. That and uh, the actual drugs

Going to the wedding of some close friends too in July, they're great people so I'm sure it'll be a blast!

Finally, slowly but surely making progress on my house which I bought three years(!) ago, both in terms of much needed maintenance and filling out with furniture. Still lots to be done!

  • I'm glad :) More along the lines of "buzziness," another rec along very different lines is this Ethel Cain track, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvIURYg4qY4 which is off one of my favourite records of 2025 so far, Perverts.

If you like that, the natural follow up is Midwife... Check this track off her album from last year, No Depression in Heaven https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT0uFGSKQQU Going even further back along similar lines is early Grouper, like this from her 2007 record Cover the Windows and the Walls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39nQSD0a97A

  • I know it's easy to say but time will help, hope you feel better soon

  • Re: "cocoon" and "space but warmly heated but at least some light," I strongly recommend HVOB, particularly arguably their best record, Trialog

Here's the first track as a taster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsBGIhaRBoc plus importantly for me, their music is so good to dance to

  • Dear gods, the comments in the linked Hacker News thread too. Was happy enough to avoid Ubuntu for snaps, now I'm even more relieved

  • Great news, been too long since this was a thing ::: spoiler spoiler (even though I'd never buy an Apple device myself) :::

  • On the new Outlook, clicking on emails that pop up opens them... in the background. Insane design choice

For some reason, opening attachments is a lot more painful that it needs to be in open emails.

Maybe there is an option to remove "open file in browser" but if there is I haven't found it. Awful, awful design
