  • It does if it can't be archived, any official posts must be available for a right to know request so they could post on Facebook or twitter but other sites that don't have a way to archive or a third party to archive they can't make official posts

  • My friend works for a local town that has a presence on fb, twitter, and inatgarm. The main reason he says they haven't moved to platforms like blsky is because as a government entity they are required to be able to archive all online communications for situations like a Right-to-know request but run into the issue that these small platforms aren't supported by the archiving software so they can't move away completely until then. Fun fact: 1st amendment prevents the government pages from removing or hiding comments you leave on their posta

  • Can we gets some thoughts on this, as an outsider I have no idea what this means for the political impacts this might have. Is this good or bad? I would say that the far-right doubling in votes doesnt seem like a good thing. Is the cdu and csu going to combat those far-right views or promote them?

  • Its not like they're taking your money to las vegas and gambling on red. They use that money to provide loans for others who apply for them. The interest they make on those loans is also how you make interest on your savings account, its also why when the governmwnt raises or lowers the interest rates for loans it also affects the rate you get for your savings account and CDs

  • I forgot that the us is one of the few countries that washes the eggs and as a result they have to be refridgerated, its weirs for me to just see them out on the floor at room temperature

  • Its a ride. Bit of backstory if you arent familiar. Linus media group (lmg) and gamers nexus(GN) are 2 content creators on youtube focusing on tech. Lmg focuses on 'the best' or 'the most' putting out videos like 'the craziest pc ever built' as a generic example. Theres a great team behind the videos and there are some pretty interesting one and the videos cover a wide variety of tech topics. GN on the other hand does mostly tech reviews and tech news and prides themselves on being accurate reporters.

The controversy revolves around a third party. Being content creators they have sponsors who help fund the show. One of those sponsors that LMG used is an app called Honey which is a browser add-on that claims to help find the best coupons when shopping online. They came under fire recently when it turned out they were colluding with certain websites/companies and somehow stealing money. Instead of saying anything about this when they discovered it, lmg just quietly dropped them from sponsorship a change from their usual trend of calling out the company (theyve done it before with other sponsors). In a recent video, GN announced they were filing a class-action lawsuit against Honey and at one point they made a remark about Linus not doing anything at the time and then the shitshow just went downhill from there

  • Its been speced out for a couple a years but the spec always comes out years before we see any motherboards capable of them and years before we have devices capable of them. Are there any x16 pcie 5 gpus out yet?

  • I never really thought much of it just a 'huh, it looks white ans gold to me' then i realized ive had a blue light filter on my computer and phone for a long time and its heavily skewed into red. Turns out turning that off helped me see it as blue and black. Who knew
