  • One time a coworker asked me and another friend to go to the casino with her, her mom and her boyfriend after work and me and my friend said yes. We arrive and when we walk in we are told "if you sign up for our players card you get 20 dollars preloaded for free"... What the hell why not, free 20 dollars. Everyone besides me and my friend had one already so we said we'll meet you inside once we get the card.

So we go to the counter and fill out their one page form, take maybe 10 minutes being generous. We get the card and go to walk onto the floor, keep in mind this place only had machine games, no tables or anything and my coworker is walking out with her family. "what's up? I thought you were playing." she responds "nah, we are leaving, we already lost $1500"

Somehow they lost $500 each in under 10 minutes... I still don't know how.

  • Yeah, it wouldn't be bad if it was done correctly (a little slack and a service loop) but they did everything super tight. What makes it worse is a bad cable is often an intermittent issue and we are a low volume high profit company who can not retest so every time a cable goes bad it's typically several thousand in lost product.

  • See cable management is great when done correctly. At my job we had a audit complaint that there were too many wires on the ground which would make it difficult to clean under them. Management told all the techs to do cable management so the wires were not dangling. The techs did as told so now we keep getting wires failing because they are super tight and strained. No one mentioned a service loop or anything of the sort. In addition now it takes like 2 hours to replace the bad wire because you have to undo all the wire management, replace the wire and redo all 400 Ip ties.

  • I always viewed relationships as a matter of trust. The difficult part of being cheated on isn't knowing another dick has been in that pussy or another pussy has been around that dick. In most cases that has happened before you ever got together. The difficult part is the doubts. "is she really staying late for work?" "is he helping a friend move or moving her organs around?" "is she not responding because she's busy or because she is fucking" those questions are what's hard. Then "well if they lied about that what else are they lying about?"

It's all about trust. Once you cheat you break that trust. I even told my partner if she was honest about it, it wouldn't be a big deal. If she lied then she is dead to me forever.

  • Possible and around right age but I don't know... I've done stupid stuff also and am a man.

Like one night I was overworked and tired and just said I'll buy McDonald's for dinner. I went in drive thru, placed my order, paid, got my change, and it wasn't till I got home that I noticed I never actually got the food...

  • Years ago when I was a late teen and living at my mother's, she was at work as a cashier. She called my one morning and this was the conversation : Mom - do me a favor, go into my bedroom my phone should be on the nightstand. Can you grab it and bring it to me?

Me - you're at work on break right?

    Mom - yeah

Me - how are you calling me?

    Mom - silence

Mom - nevermind, I have it....

  • Funny story of the at one about 10 years ago I rented a room in a house with these two old(60+) alcoholics. We split the cable/internet bill, normally it was $270 a month ($90 per person). At the time I was about to move across the country and was doing business trips back and and forth. This month I was there for about 1 week. The cable bill came in and it was close to a grand.

They wanted me to pay $350 and I said no! I called the cable company and asked why it was so high. They said it was from like 14 porn movies being purchased all from one cable box(I never even unboxed mine) over a week end. They gave me the serial of the box and I checked all the boxes. I found out who it was, I payed my $90 dollars and told them to figure out the rest. I moved out the end of the next month, never did learn what happened to the bill(wasn't in my name thankfully).

  • I agree and haven't returned but lemmy hasn't hit critical mass yet.... Like I don't recall a post with over a hundred replies. Reddit used to have over a thousand on every reply on the first page.

  • Yes but for example for seizures I want a simple form, not having to type in entries. Especially for siezures, it's normally a busy event of caring for him, having to add a seizure taking more than a minute means it probably won't be used.
