Ah, yes. That's correct, sorry I misunderstood you. Yeah that's pretty lame that it doesn't work on desktop. I remember wanting to use that several times.

I don't know if it's exactly what you want, but I use "Peek" to record sections of my screen. It doesn't record audio though, I'm afraid.

Hopefully they will make an abstraction layer like you always should.
