Problem is that they were not always wrong. Napoleon and Hitler are the most recent examples, but in history there are dozens more. Their western front was just too accessible in pre-modern times, impossible to defend 100%.

There's a huge amount of pro-palestine propaganda in the internet right now. And looking at reactions, it's working.

One would think that the actual warcrimes Israel is committing should be enough to report on honestly, but somehow no. We have spruce things up a bit. If I was conspirationally inclined, I'd say that Israel themselves are adding these lies into the mix so they can always point out that this and that was a lie.

I mean I was trying to be cute there, but I genuinely think that this it the way to proper respect and non-bigotry in the workplace. You have lots of oddball people in every workplace of more than 3 people, and you're supposed to function with all of them. Trans is just one more. And of course it's all subjective, so the people you might think are perfectly normal are completely bizarre to some other people and vice versa. And you have to navigate around that too.

Trans people are weird, but so is everyone else.

I'm not saying Reagan wasn't a bad president, just focusing on his effects on the economy. That doesn't excuse his other failures.

Putin is a lot worse than Trump though. I can somehow imagine a future where the right person talks to Trump and convinces him to support Ukraine in a real way.

I don't see any other way out of this mess for Putin except his death. Best option would be some sort of a revolution.

Reagan was president 1981-1989. During years 1981-2023, there were only 5 years (1982, 1991, 2008, 2009, 2020) where US growth was less than 1%. I don't know enough to say whether that's thanks to or despite Reagan, but he sure didn't destroy the economy.

Russians themselves were willing (or were ordered instead of asked) to go die in WW2 against Nazi Germany. Was this a "sheer hatred of germans" that was due to "germanphobic propaganda"? Perhaps a bit, but there cleary was a worthy cause behind it all.

If it meant an end to the fascist regime of Russia, it'd be worth it. We all die anyway at some point, why not die for a good cause then.
