  • I’ve considered this myself. A sort of “maximum allowable wealth disparity” limit. The only trouble is enforcing it. There are all sorts of ways to shuffle wealth around that might not count as “pay.” You’d need to plug all of those loopholes.

  • It’s difficult because a rise time of zero is physically impossible. You can’t instantaneously jump from one voltage to another in real life; There’s always a transient response. Circuits are made of physical components and electrons are moving objects.

  • I hope this is shitposting/satire. For anyone who doesn’t understand why Wayland was created, I’d recommend taking a look at this talk by one of the Wayland (and former X) developers.

Yes, Wayland has problems. But something like it was sorely needed. X is an unmaintainable pile of hacks built on broken assumptions.

  • I think the scene with Edel might be my least favorite scene in the whole adaptation so far. Really unnatural, monologue-y exposition, and they’re all talking loud enough for their voices to echo through the room instead of whispering.

Putting my gripes aside, how about that Ubel fight, eh? Not quite as tasty as Laufen’s fighting style in the last episode, IMO, but definitely up there. Those first-person POV shots were a neat surprise. Also enjoyed seeing Frieren drowning her worries in Methode’s huge tracts of land and Fern getting jealous over it.

Those golems are interesting, though. Edel’s blocked attacks from Sense’s clone… So, was whoever made the golems a more powerful first-class mage than Sense?

  • Pedant time: That actually wouldn’t kill any process that’s already loaded in memory and running. Unless the process attempts to access something else from the filesystem and crashes.
