Yeah that makes sense too but those are also reasonable to have as a protected setting to turn on/off. I think the post is pointed at involuntary blocking.

You would just adjust after a while. It would be different but you'd be starting your shift at 1700 instead of 0900 (PST, or is it PDT?) for a 9-5. Maybe closer to 1600 on the east side of PST or closer to 1800 to the west. But for a town or region things would become locally consistent.

And scheduling work meetings across time zones you already have to coordinate. So not really different from now.

No it's a poor journalistic standard to cast guilt before trial. If some random person was saying it who cares. This is a large public facing news entity though.

Yes breaking the law is a "crime" but to be a criminal you need to have the verdict saying you committed it. Innocent until proven and all. A "not guilty" or null result means not a criminal.

I mean i agree ethically and morally. I was just commenting on NYT not understanding how laws work.
