  • No, that is not the question nor a reasonable interpretation of it.

  • It definitely does not cite sources and use it's own words in all cases - especially in visual media generation.

And in the proposed scenario I did write the student plagiarizes the copyrighted material.

  • When a school professor "prompts" you to write an essay and you, the "tool" go consume copyrighted material and plagiarize it in the production of your essay is the infringement made by the professor?

  • Thanks for this, both of those give me a few leads for further testing.

  • Afraid that comment isn't showing. Mind sharing it again?

  • I used to feel this way, but the aggressiveness at switch Edge pushes every new feature - re-enabling after disabling, constant nags, etc - has really turned me off of it. It's become software I regularly have to argue with.

It doesn't help that out of the box, Edge feels like a browser that my grandmother would have maintained (with so many glued on hotbars/sidebars/shopping popups).

  • Someone is going to say porn, and for that person I want to know how the hell you hold that thing one handed (for long enough).

  • Not available for current versions of Android. On v 14 and I can't install it.

  • Oof, point taken. Luckily that hasn't been among my experiences!

  • This post says it is an update, but searching through c/main I'm not seeing anything that looks like it laid the groundwork for this. Consequently, I feel like I'm missing information.

    1. What is the goal/purpose of the not for profit business registration?
    2. Is status as a registered charity being considered/pursued?
    3. As another poster asked, why is this being registered provincially instead of federally (I strongly recommend registering federally unless there is some hidden benefit for registering in BC).
    4. What is the board/governance structure being proposed?
    5. Are bylaws being drafted at this stage, or are default bylaws (not sure if BC has those, federally NFP's do) being applied?
  • I have incorporated a bunch of small not for profit corporations, and you raise some good points.

    1. Registration federally is much less complicated than registering provincially, for a number of reasons (legislation to follow, filings, expanding business operations across the country, pursuing status as a charity, etc). I would recommend registering a not for profit federally every time (even if it was the smallest organization operating in one tiny corner of a single province).
    2. To my knowledge, Canadian/Canada is not a protected term (when registering federally). I have registered a few not for profits with Canada in the name. The organizations did have a Canada-wide scope.
  • That's interesting, though not my experience. If a monitor is turned off then the PC picks up that it has disconnected.

The scenario I described occurs when the OS (Windows) sleeps the screen after inactivity. It could be a function of the laptop, of the monitor, or of the cables. In my set up using HDMI over display port solves it.

  • In a multi monitor set up, when a screen connected to display port goes to sleep my computer treats it like that screen was disconnected - meaning all my open applications get shoved from one screen to another. I've also used HDMI to avoid that.

  • Nice iso collection

  • Add X to Y list is great for when you run out of something in the kitchen.

  • Sounds like Homebox would fit your purposes.
