Lining up references is the worst. I hate asking, and yet I've frequently been a reference for others and I'm always happy to do it. Happy to help if you get stuck.

Severe thunderstorm warning apparently. The radar's looking pretty spicy but it looks like the worst of it might slip past me to the east.

I've asked for feedback. They actually asked me to apply, so I don't think there was someone else lined up, but who knows?

Got rejected from a niche job that exactly matches my skills and experience after what I thought was a strong interview. Now spiralling and wondering whether I am in fact unemployable. Which I know is over the top. But what do I have to do dammit??? I really thought this one might stick.

And no power. At least the house is still fairly cool.

Update: the power's back but the cooling is on strike. Which could be fun.

I watched a bit of the Bellarine road race on tv and that was quite enough cycling for me. Definitely have all the icy poles!

Yet another evacuation in the Grampians. They're having a thoroughly shit run. Hopefully they can get it all under control.

By all means drink all the alcohol, if you fancy. But please drink plenty of water too, or soft drink or whatever. It's so easy to dehydrate in this weather, and alcohol makes it easier.

Me too, and I was only just recovering from the last five-day effort. It's the stormy weather triggering me today I reckon.

I'm really not far north of the city, closest to the Viewbank weather station. It's usually a couple of degrees warmer here but right now it's 11 degrees hotter than the CBD. It's 37C.

I've been to body pump, had a walk, done two loads of washing, and made a frittata. I will be on the couch until further notice.

ER is on iView and it is pretty brilliant tv, especially the first few seasons.

Might try and plan a last minute long weekend in Antarctica.

Oh that is properly ugly. Fingers crossed some of it gets revised down.
