  • A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step but if you’re running from a tiger you may want to take quicker, and longer strides.

  • I’m saying these first steps are too little, too late, though. We should be past this point by now. We banned advertising tobacco over 50 years ago, and we don’t have another 50 years to work with on climate.

The stances we take and the actions we push for should be reflective of the urgency this situation merits.

  • Sure that’s good but also extremely insubstantial in a mildly frustrating way. At least start from urging for a ban on the oil products themselves rather than having already talked yourself down to what amounts to pissing on a forest fire.

  • Yeah, you can sometimes redress grievances through collective action, but don’t ever expect these people to be held accountable without that. That’s not what the “justice” system is for.

  • If the people who sacrifice others for their own gain are ever held to account then they will simply dismantle the law and remove any pretense of equality.

  • Trump is going to COOK your BABY and EAT them!!! Biden will merely roast the child but not consume it. LESSER EVIL!!!

  • they don't need to drag it out. she's suing the wrong party. Bally's don't own the machines or manage the jackpot she's trying to claim; IGT does. it's like suing a convenience store because your lotto ticket was a misprint.

  • There are tons of machine learning algorithm libraries easily usable by any relatively amateur programmer. Aside from that all they would need is access to a sufficient quantity of geographically tagged photographs to train one with. You could probably scrape a decent corpus from google street view.

The obtainability of any given AI application is directly proportional to the availability of data sets that model the problem. The algorithms are all packed up into user friendly programs and apis that are mostly freely available.

  • Well there’s also trips to Israel to train with the IDF.

  • Passing a law to give the executive branch overreaching censorship authority over the internet while simultaneously campaigning that the other option in the next election wants to use the power of that office to overthrow democracy. This is the “good ending”.

  • Why not? Nationalize it and treat it like the infrastructure it is. Take the ISPs, too, while you're at it.

  • Video is nearly impossible to host in a sustainable way. The bandwidth usage is among the most expensive things you can host. The only way you’re getting something better than YouTube is if it’s tax funded somehow.

  • I'm of the opinion that not every company needs to expand indefinitely. Most things should probably just stay at a sustainable level.

  • how is it an experiment to restore things to the way they used to be? pretty sure we already know how it works out.

  • I’m not even convinced that’s true when it comes to this issue. Trump, at least, narcissistically cares about what people think of him enough that he could maybe be swayed by public opinion. Biden has been a hardline Zionist his entire career and sees backing Israel to the hilt despite the public outcry as a moral imperative.

Besides, how do you get worse than eagerly aiding a genocide?

  • Great. I'm glad you're comfortable with doing the job of the people you claim to despise. This is why I insulted you. Repeatedly. Thanks for confirming it was justified.
