  • Yes. Its like sales taxes are going up. Unless something is assembled in the US from parts produced in the US there is now a big increase in taxes that must be paid. Most things people buy in the US will now be taxed significantly and thus cost significantly more.

  • I looked into it a week or two ago and couldn't find any definitive evidence. It seems plausible because Musk is well known for being into plastic surgery and IVF, but other than a musician who knows Grimes publicly claiming that Grimes confirmed it to them, I didn't see anything that looked convincing.

  • I do not understand how you have gone through life without any traumatic experiences, that seems incredibly unlikely. Also, you are perhaps the only person on earth with perfect mental health these days.
I was thinking you had maybe had a bad experience in nature when you were young because your comment reminded me of a few people I've known. At least one of them had a series of bad camping experiences as a child that really defined how they view nature for the rest of their life. I think they had a parent who was really into nature and tried to force it onto them but it didn't go well.

  • If I'm understanding correctly, you've not been selling the customer the additional feature but they think you have been and now your boss wants you to actually start billing them for the feature that they mistakenly think they are getting already but without actually providing the feature to them? Assuming that is correct it really does sound like fraud. Generally you can't knowingly sell something you aren't capable of selling but still collect the money. Even if the victim mistakenly thinks they got what they paid for you are still defrauding them of the money. I'm not a lawyer but I think if you do this you may end up needing a lawyer. Is there anyone else in the company besides your boss that you could talk to about this? The more people know about what is going on the harder it will be for your boss to pull of whatever he is trying to pull off. If something like this was going on where I work I would be documenting everything and sharing it with whoever would look at it, starting with my bosses boss. I wouldn't make any accusations though, just present the facts and express your concerns.

  • My phone does that sometimes when the battery gets really low. I think the radio has a power saving mode where it stops transmitting most of the time and tries to only transfer the bare minimum data. Or at least that seems like what's going on with mine.

  • In addition to what others have said, he also enjoys the direct power it gives him over corporate leaders. He wants to coerce them into subservience so they have to kiss his ass and be nice to him. Tariffs give him something to hold over their heads.

  • Good catch, those are two very different things being compared as if they are equivalent. I would expect that the number of Canadians who actually want Canada to get annexed by the US is lower than the number who think it is likely.

  • Doesn't matter if you're using a compromised device. Given the number of people in the group chat, that at least some of them were using personal devices, and all of them are high value targets... I wouldn't be so confident that this chat wasn't intercepted.
