They do, there is a wide range of genetic tests done on newborns. Mostly looking for rare genetic diseases that need treatment from birth. https://www.genome.gov/genetics-glossary/Newborn-Genetic-Screening

My wife is an ER nurse and I never got it. Funny thing is she didn't get it until she was in the hospital getting her gall bladder out. We also had two kids in elementary at the time, and they never got it either.

My wife is a nurse and went through the whole pandemic without getting COVID. She did get it however, when she was waiting for her gall bladder removal surgery just after things were getting back to normal.
