  • Ok that makes sense, hopefully if cars can't speed there wouldn't be any need for speeding tickets. But there will always be a need for police, people are still going to drive under the influence, act like idiots and cause accidents as a result.

  • $1000 a month wouldn't even begin to help cover the cost of basic housing in Utah, I'm not sure what the situation is in Austin. I made a good salary but still wasn't able to afford a single bedroom apartment in Salt Lake, and now that rent has gone way up here, nobody can. In fact most former renters are now on the street.

Nobody in Utah can afford a house if they didn't already own one. Because of the outrageous prices, all the homebuyers are out of state millionaires who buy up property to rent out to other rich couples.

Maybe we should all move to Austin, if only they'd move Austin out of Texas and into a better state.

  • WRONG AGAIN. You're the one making a false accusation that I'm lying, the burden of proving I am is ON YOU, not me.

In Friday's edition (January 26th) of USA Today there's a lengthy article about this man's execution and once again it says, "he chose to have this method of execution." It says so pretty clearly. If you choose not to follow up and read the article for yourself, it's only because you don't want to read the truth.

And it's also been reported on the national news that he CHOSE this for his manner of death. So if you're not willing to face that, that's on you.

  • I hope they really do throw a book and a brick at him and send him to prison for life, like that sick idiot they tried to make a documentary series out of, "the Lion king" or whatever the hell his stupid name was. He was an animal abuser and animal hater and he deserves to rot in prison for the things he's done.

  • There's nothing imaginary about the horror of criminals committing murder. Oh I realize it hasn't affected you personally, so why should you care about any of it, or bother to see it for what it is.

You're wrong (as usual), it IS up to me to decide when life is preferable to death. Or when someone who is criminally insane should be executed. I don't really give a flying fuck what you think about it either way.

  • I'm excited and happy for her victory over this orange-faced monster, and I have a suggestion for doing something good with the money. Hire some cartel somewhere (because apparently we citizens are too cowardly) to walk up and shoot him in the face on 5th Avenue.

There could be no greater good or delicious irony to come from this whole thing.

  • That's very true. And there is no manner of execution that's going to look good to onlookers no matter what the situation. From what I've read about lethal injection, it's just as awful to witness.

No one is claiming there's a very humane way to do this. But I still believe in capital punishment for the crime of murder. In some ways it's a much kinder outcome for the murderer than keeping him in a prison cell for the rest of his life.

  • Please tell me you're kidding. You obviously don't read the newspapers. It was in all of the Tribune papers and USA TODAY - this man ASKED to be executed by nitrogen gas.

You're failure to keep up on the news is not proof that what I'm saying isn't right. Sheesh!!

The state has supreme ability to administer justice and in every case should be doing so. YOU are an asshole and an idiot and a liar because you hate the fact that I've cornered you on this.

So go suck a lemon and continue to parade your ignorance around online for all to see ya dumb fuckhead.

  • Yeah son. And I'm helping with the cause. We are going after these people and my money is helping them be prosecuted for these awful crimes.

You can be a molester and hater of animals, but I'm here to see that people like you don't get away with it.

  • Religion is (I think Marx said) the "opiate of the people." And always the poorest people with the least education seem the most readily duped by religious nonsense. And in my opinion, they're the ones who can least afford it.

  • It's like you didn't even read my posting at all. Didn't I just state that I believe in capitol punishment, or do I have to spell it out more clearly? Of course we MUST execute people when they have committed a horrible crime. There is no rehabilitation of these cretins.

Not only should we do it, we MUST do it. The trouble isn't that we execute people, it's that we don't do it often enough.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as liberal and leftist as could be - i make Richard Simmons look positively straight by comparison - but I'm very much in favor of extreme criminal punishment. Crime is not something any society can sustain or survive.

  • I think we just need one giant inescapable global vaccination of humanity -- the nuclear war that is coming soon. It's coming sooner than people think, it's not just a mere few months away. It could really be any moment any day now.

And that will be the biggest vaccination against ignorance and human idiocy we could hope for.

  • That's the UTAH way, you know. Doesn't happen to us. We don't have COVID right now, why should get vaccinated to possibly help ourselves or protect anyone else.

In Utah drivers keep refusing to wear seatbelts (they call it government overreach) and most of the fatalities on the road might otherwise have been prevented. But hey - some people only learn their lesson the hardest possible way. No amount of logic or intelligence will sway them, only the hard concrete will make a dent in their skulls and by then - it's too late.

  • My aunt had polio also but she survived with a bad limp. We got our polio vaccines when I was a kid, very simple and easy, and nobody was dumb enough to suggest that vaccines were "bad." We could see the truth - and the importance of being vaccinated. The human race has sure devolved into a morass of ignorance since then.

  • I absolutely agree with you. It's not a bad thing it's just a comment on the situation. Human civilization is NOT worth a plug nickel. And I'm all for the nuclear war, I just don't want to wait around for it forever. Get on with it already!!!

  • No they make nukes in order to use them. They deceive themselves that they only make them for deterrence, the way people who buy guns deceive themselves into thinking they'll only use it for protection, like the guy who shot and killed the high school girl who was in a car that turned into his driveway by accident, and as it was backing out, he fired at them from his window.

Of course he's now on his way to a life sentence in prison. But I'm sure glad he's well and truly protected from the incursion of rabid high school girls.
