  • Ever heard of Spotify? Pandora? iHeartRadio? There are also tons of audiophiles that buy vinyl, CDs, etc. The streaming services are about "convenience". But it's not very convenient when those services don't offer everything that should be available, the quality is shit, and they can pull things from being available at any time. The physical forms are about actually owning what you pay for as well as quality. Even the best rips aren't 100%; there may be a missing track, cut too early, corruption of the file(s), etc.

So yeah, people still pay for music. It's not porn.

  • Thank ye, matey! We be pirates, after all...

  • Ok, I gave in and while it's a little confusing, I already have one of the albums I was looking for and it's flac. Thanks for twisting my arm!

  • Yeah, I already use a torrent client, and I don't want to download another program that requires a login. I just want a place to find magnet links for torrents. Plus I can't even see what Soulseek has available without downloading it.

  • Better be pizza!

  • I don't know how effective it truly is a far as privacy goes, but I use the Scam Block app that T-Mobile provides, and DuckDuckGo's App Tracking Protection blocks tracking attempts from all my apps, including Scam Block.

  • You joke, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

  • Right. Because FBI doesn't already monitor any suspicious activity.

  • Porn drives technology. VHS beat Betamax because of porn. BluRay beat HDDVD because of porn. The internet is for porn.

  • Same. Sadly, however, the more popular a thing becomes, the more the general population (read: idiots and trash) shows up to enshitify things.

  • I've been using Jerboa, but I would like to try a different app. I do NOT want to use Sync, though, because even though everyone says they don't sell data, it says right in the store that it collects personal information and messages and I'm not ok with that. I don't care about paying a couple bucks for something quality to get rid of ads, but ads or not, you don't need my personal data. So, what would you recommend I try next? I'm having trouble deciding because like half of them are early access.

  • There was a Farscape movie? I'm talking about how the show "ends".

Edit: Just looked it up - there was apparently a three hour mini-series that I had no idea about. Time to find out what happens...

  • I seriously feel SNW was Star Trek seeing how much people loved what the Orville did and doing it themselves.
