  • Cut immigration, tie it to housing, force municipals to rezone by withholding funding if they don't.

Those alone will help the poor dramatically more than anything the Liberals will do. Since rents are peoples greatest cost, and its doubled in less than a decade. That's all they had to do...

  • It was like a week ago he had full confidence in his minister who wanted to ship a Canadian citizens issuing anti-China tweets in Canada to China for execution. Then replaced him with someone equally bad.

I'd assume he can't see them as that bad when he wants a Canadian gestapo for fighting anti-CPC rhetoric.

  • Rent control is a first mover advantage at best, a paper over what mass immigration has done. It also hurts people living with abusers and limits mobility while defeating political will, not that it had much will to begin with given Liberal polling after 10 years.

  • If he cuts immigration it increases wage pressure, which with aging demographics means higher salaries and shrinking home values.

The reverse of what we did the last decade, feeding wealth to the old. Which is why Carney is loved by Boomers. So either a 400$ dental check funded with debt your generation gets to pay for, versus your rent being cut in half, what to choose..

  • Its definitely harder to get healthcare staff to work in a city where a house is literally millions of dollars, they'll go to the US if they have a brain. I agree Ford didn't do anything to help, but I'd also say if every province has a doctor shortage then maybe its not a local issue.

The Feds also lead to stagnant GDP growth, by blocking our exports with bad laws. As they simultaneously borrowed a ton and ballooned the size of government, starving resources from productive investment; which being cynical its hard to pay higher taxes when you're wage isnt growing and you're funding Tim Horton's workers to bring their senior parents onto our healthcare.
