  • Its 100% free with a totally optional donation. Appreciate there's been a lot of concern about their partnering with FUTO, but I checked heavily into it and I'm comfortable there won't be a rug pull.

  • Not convinced the masses will go back, they will keep flocking to whatever's hyped and new. Many countries only know web2.0 as the internet and never experienced the wild west, their world is Facebook and whatsapp

  • I despise the centralized web and actively avoid it. Theres still plenty of WEB1.0 oit there, its just gettibg harder to find as years go on. But there are some things I don't want to go back to, gore and other shock stuff comes to mind.

Posting on forums and finding random websites, GeoCities, tripod, chatting on IRC.. These were the days.

I wish I'd never stopped using IRC for chat tbh

  • Dont think this is an unpopular opinion. I can happily play most any game made in the last 15 years and be pretty happy, and if the OG game was pretty plain there's always modders (like, morrowind/system shockn2 or freespace mods make a huge difference for that age of game) I was just watching GDQ today and surprised by well some games over a decade old just look... Perfectly fine. I find myself Turing rtx on and off a bit to figure out what difference it's actually making - i believe rtx is a bigger win forndev workload than the quality increase for gamers. (Don't get me wrong, full glass/water/puddke reflections are incredible, but it's a lot of $$$ for the visual jump)

  • Yeah there's bug fixes I've been following for 3-4 years that have no traction, I wouldn't hold your breath. Considering radar just got discontinued I wouldn't be totally surprised if the same happened to lidarr.
