  • Sorry, it didn't occur to me that that might be a problem. Yeah, cysts of any kind are pretty gross. Pilonidal cysts are near the butthole, so grossness is not reduced. Unless you have an interest in such things, I agree, don't look them up.

  • Back when bash.org was functional, there was a quote that went basically like this:
\ "Sex in space sounds epic."
\ "You need to have regular sex before you can be choosy."

This isn't any kind of commentary on you, I just miss bash.org and the replacements that have popped up since are challenging to search.

    edit: accommodating markdown.

  • I far prefer it when someone refers to themselves as the parent of a pet over when someone refers to the pet as a kid.

Ideally neither, but one is less off-putting than the other, IMHO.

  • My first three surgeries were for the removal of a pilonidal cyst. According to the doctor who operated in my tailbone, this and similar events are common causes of panic.

  • It's kind of amazing (no pun intended). For a very long time, you could track her throughout the house by her snorting / wheezing - she was on par with my fifty+ pound dog in terms of snoring noises.

We thought it was because of allergies and hoped it would disappear when we moved hundreds of miles away from the theorized allergens, but nothing really changed. Recently, we took her to the vet for her swollen ear and they prescribed antibiotics (and some other stuff). Since then, in a matter of two or three weeks, her wheezing has almost disappeared.

We thought that the vet wouldn't help much because we thought the cause was allergies, but I wish we'd taken her earlier. She's clearly breathing so much more freely now.

Her ear injury appears to be largely cosmetic, so I don't think it's hurting her, but I'm glad someone professional looked at it.

Or, to go on a tangent from all of the above, I agree: get well soon, Maze.
