  • Mine has "auto brights" that I swear were designed by an evil bastard. They flashed people often enough that I've taken to turning them off and just go with my normie lights unless it's country driving now.

  • Right? All the times I [never revealing this to another living soul], they sure wish they weren't watching...

  • I feel like that's gotta be a scam on the employer side where it benefits the employer only..

  • Isn't there a plaque at the Statue of Liberty saying something like:

Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

The US and Canada were literally started by immigration, grown by it. Before these two countries were born it belonged to First Nations and the wild. The attitude of 'fuck you I got mine' is classic boomer and why society is so fucked today. If they weren't so rightfully scared of ICE they'd be taxpayers, adding even more value to the country than just their labour and culture alone.

  • Browsers on phones too so access is already outside the app store

  • I'd say obviously not but judging by the down votes it didn't come across the way I intended. Definitely meant it as there are two reasons, split equally.

I'd fear my reaction because I'm scared I'd react in a way that would prevent me from caring for my surviving children and spouse.

  • Feels right. Enough light to see by, but throws shadows wildly being in the corner.

  • I'm about 50/50 on not wanting this happen to me because I want my kids to outlive me and because I'm legitimately scared of how I'd react being in that situation. I know how I'd want to react, which is cold calculating and devastatingly civilized. I fear it would be cold and devastatingly chaotically dangerous.

  • Collective? Pretty sure they're not going to corale them all into one room, seal all the doors, reveal there's a knife under the rug in the middle of the room and that the doors will only open again when there's only one survivor.

Also the room is inside a faraday cage. And the only light is a single red bulb in the corner. And Norwegian Death Metal is blaring from in-wall speakers. Maybe spiders are dumped in through the ventilation ducts.

Sorry I just spent the last hour playing DnD with an LLM.

  • Ford surprisingly is one of the few that don't do this. At least for what I have anyways, but it's not base model.

The only thing I'll have to pay for to continue using is the GPS in another year or so. The app itself is free but pretty limited in overall functionality. Remote start, lock unlock, check tire pressure and oil life.

They only complaint I have is the damn windows take forever to thaw the seal enough to roll down unless I pull them back a little.

  • Incorrect, I have no garage..

  • You learn to enjoy the cold, too. Also, it can be one hell of a way to wake up too.

  • The system really is rigged by the rich to keep them getting richer. That's wild, thank you!

  • So they just pull loans in succession, each time large enough to pay the remainder of the prior loan. Meanwhile the assets continue to appreciate, giving more security against the also increasing (but slower) loans.

When does the loan train eventually stop and get paid up? Death doesn't usually wipe them out, but I guess liquidate just enough to pay the debt and the remainder goes to inheritance?

  • I feel like I'm too poor to understand what happens between steps 2 & 3 without having a job. How are they paying the loans off? Where does that money come from? And if they have an income in order to pay the loan, why get the loan to begin with?

  • I guess that depends on what you mean by "smart car". It's a 2021 Ford and the app let's me do scheduled starts. Turns on the steering wheel and seat warmers too.

  • Scheduled auto start for the win!
