  • Don't forget to take breaks... If you want to be remembered as a coward!

  • I found this too be quite interesting:

    Toxoplasmosis and Wolves

To me, this makes all the "I'm an alpha, like a wolf" bumble even funnier. Nah, you're just a cat person with poop on the brain.

  • iPhone SE - work phone provided by work. No idea why iPhone vs Android other than general uniformity and maybe security. I do have the choice of Android or iPhone for my next one, so who knows. Really tempted to go for Pixel Pro because I'm still not used to the differences in navigation a year and a half later. I fuckin hate my work phone. It doesn't help that my personal is a Pixel 5 and I use the shit out of the back sensor, gonna miss that when this dies.

Apple AirPods Pro - these were a gift when I visited a sister site and they're awesome. They were better before whatever firmware update happened that forced them to Adaptive Audio or Transparent though. Kind of annoying, but still awesome for being free.

  • Physically impossible as per our current understanding of physics, mathematics, and technology.

  • I was 33 for almost 2 years. Covid did a number on my interpretation of time..

  • What about the other items? Bottle rockets off the papalcony for sure. Dab pen for office duties after I think.

The laser pen would also be a mind blower during the high times.

  • Zen

    Jump
  • I keep the seat down and hover depending on the velocity. If it's gonna return fire, I'll use the seat for support.

  • I'd wanna try and keep it a native type though, I'm in an industrial setting and our environmental people would probably flip my desk if they caught wind of non-native plant introduction on site.. they're super dire all the time.

All "we need this data for our month end and it hasn't been populating for 3 weeks! The government regulator is going to fine us into oblivion blah blah blah". One time they flipped out because it had been something like 3 months of no data but they didn't tell us until a few days before the current month's due date. Really hard to take them seriously on their issue priorities. But they totally flip my desk for bringing fancy grass lol

  • That's awesome! Do it up! I'm so looking forward to the extra space. I've considered being impatient and taking over the spare desk next to me lol people just keep using it for storage and it's making the big boss twitchy, so it would really be two birds one stone...

  • I was actually just thinking today that when I get my new L desk at work and privacy screens, I'm gonna get a sun lamp and grow my own grass in a pot on my desk.

I work in IT and taken on a much more removed roll, so it makes sense because I get out even less now.

  • Stumbled across an execution on 4chan once in my early twenties. The moment I realized what was up I closed the browser and never returned to 4chan. It still pops up in my head every now and then as an intrusive thought.

If anyone ever tried to force one of my kids to watch an execution I'd lose my damn mind, regardless of their age.

  • When I tried just a couple years ago it was 6 or 7 months before I got a follow up. It's also not intended for people with children, at all. They told me it would be at least 1 year of mandatory barracks living with multiple locations during that time, some for as short as 3 months.

Ultimately I decided against because I have young children and I didn't want to miss that much time, knowing I'd be physically and mentally drained on weekends which would possibly be the only time I might be able to see them.

Happy I didn't pursue it further because I landed the career change I was seeking in the private sector instead with a much higher starting wage and I'm home after work every day.

  • I use Office 365 for work and I still CTRL+S. Something learned the hard way is hard to let go of lol

  • Good luck trying to get money from a Galapagos tortoise! Reincarnating as a long lived and endangered (?) species, the new gamble!

  • I have a workday routine setup to turn specific lights on for set stations. If my bathroom vanity and kitchen lights were capable of taking smart bulbs, I wouldn't have to touch a light switch in the morning. It also means I don't have to fumble in the dark, half asleep.

I also have another similar routine but for when my wife gets up with the kids for school.

Being able to let the kids keep a light on but at 1% brightness is glorious, because it's a nightlight they can't pull out of the wall.

Mood lightning in not just brightness levels but also colours.

Granted half of what I said is capable without a voice assistant.

Also I discovered that simulated grey light is a thing and it's awful... But I learned that because of my voice assistant.

  • Ya but your argument is also expecting public space to be given to you to the detriment of others. It's a double edged sword.

"Park on a different street" literally just shifts the problem.

If a public parking lot was available then ya, totally feasible, but it'll have to be big which then takes up the land from something else, again shifting the problem.

You're getting upitty with someone who is concerned that knee-jerk public policy is going to have large, likely unplanned, detrimental effects on the citizens outside of just themselves.

  • I would like those but I also live somewhere where Ford fusions have light bars so I try not to care too much anymore.
