  • Not so sure. It may just as well be that OP thinks Homelander is the cool guy and the meme is meant unironically. Their comments here suggest that and their posts are mostly comprised of golf and borderline sexist / boomer jokes

  • Why would that be the case? How would marriage between two equals in a non-patriarchy be patriarchal? What about marriage between two women? What about last names in a society of beings without gender?

I think you didnt mean 'inherently'

  • The goal of punishment is not to break a person beyond repair. The goal is always to make them not commit that crime in the future. Punishing a person with a lifelong sentence just so that they experience the worst possible misery is just revenge.

That said, I am not advocating for death sentence.

  • There are more or less accepted theories in psychology that fear of death is ultimately the basis for all our fears. Fear of being left alone is a result of evolution telling us we will die without a community. Fear of failure because we would get cast out, hence being alone and dying without the communuty etc. The hypothesis is that once you accept death as an inevitable part of life, the path leading there will be much more enjoyable.

What I find interesting is that you are saying you dont enjoy life but are afraid of dying. If life isnt enjoyable, would disappearing really make a difference? (genuine question)

We experience the world through lenses that our brain programmed through our experiences. I think the extent to which one enjoys life deoends heavily on how that persons brain 'expects' life to be enjoyed. If your opinion is that life is generally not that great, you wont experience the different joys it brings. In some cases, our brains can be 'tricked' very easily. For example, when you have a hiccup, tell yourself 'hiccups arent real' like you really believe it. The hiccup will go away within seconds. What Im trying say is if you tell yourself that you are enjoying some things and that life is great, eventually that will become your new reality. The trick behind motivational videos/speeches/coaches is that you receive the information from another person. If you believe that person is telling the truth in saying life is great, your brain may adopt to that. Telling it to yourself is way more efficient though because your brain is already you, but it obviously seems stupid talking yourself into things you dont believe.

Of course clinical depression is a different matter and needs professional care.

  • Most of the richest 1% would come from few different countries, so there would probably be less cultural differences at least. I could imagine the world being divided into one country per continent or something. People living very far from each other would accelerate digitalisation of governance.

Cutting emissions by about 95% could also help with climate change. Also people could just move away from highly affected regions.

I think humanity might just be better off. That said, I dont think this is limited to the richest 1%, most distributions of 1% of the population would do.

  • You know the definition of charisma is likability. You say you dont want charisma but want to be liked. Those are literally opposites. Its not a curse, its what you are choosing for yourself. No person is born the way they are throughout their lives. We all change on a daily basis. We make small changes in our behaviour to fit in with others, to be liked and cared for. Thats how humans survived until now. You cant expect a person to like you if you refuse the idea of being likable.

You dont have to be whatever you imagine the 'friend of everyone guy' to be like (Im saying it like this because that is not an objective description of a person). You can be any other version of kind likable people.

  • Ok so let me summarize.

    1. You dont like your current life
    2. You dont want to change because you dont want to be someone else than who you currently are.
    3. You think your problems 'are happening to you' and you have no influence on that
    4. You hate the rest of the world for not being the way you want it to be

I think you need to accept that the world will not change for you, but you can adapt to the world. Changing your mindset is not the same as deleting your whole personality. If you think being a complaining little b* is the core of your personality and you dont want to change that then I guess noone can help you.

But I dont think thats the case and you probably know that many people in this thread are right. You are mentally ill and need help. Noone is judging you for that. Just get some professional help ffs. Theres no shame in it, most people nowadays have some form of mental instability or trauma. Not wanting to do anything about it is whats being judged, but thats not part of who you are, its what your subconscious planted inside your ego to shield it from trauma.
