  • 12th (or 11th?) level and we have met two paladins. Both total arseholes. Funny thing is that my cleric have become a paladin in spirit and behaviour. Smite the hordes of chaos first, ask questions later. And if you don't actively work against the hordes you are aiding them. Going into villain territory soon with his fantaticism.

  • That sentence directed towards the article and it choosing to focus on one part of the study. Sure I have not read the study so the link between "struggling" parents and development can be much weaker than screen time and development. It can be that the article presents the study without favoring any results. Or it could be highlighting those results that drives more clicks. I feel the second option is the more likely one.

  • There are other factors they have observed as well. Let me quote the article.

There are other factors that can affect a child’s development, such as genetics, adverse experiences such as neglect or abuse, and socioeconomic factors, Nagata said.

In the latest research, mothers of children with high levels of screen time were more likely to be younger, have never given birth before, have a lower household income, have a lower education level and have postpartum depression.

But bad screens are a much sexier cause.

  • It's just more of the same but with a reset. With a puny weak sauce season mechanic I couldn't be bothered to regrind all the reknown, all the dungeons etc. Got bit further into endgame compared to pre-season but the lack of storage and organisation made me quit a few weeks ago. Four (4) stash tabs, or is it five, and no search. How the heck am I supposed to manage loots and dungeons?

    Nah, back to other arpgs

  • I agree that it would make sense to be more clear. But how clear? List of all things that are illegal? Just those things thay differ from "normal" laws? But then what are we to set as "normal"?

Think the best would be to state where the instance is located and what national and international laws governing it. For example "No illegal content on instace based on German and EU laws".

  • Gonna be that guy. But just because something is legal in one place doesn't mean it is legal where the instance/owner is located. And the owner is protecting their own skin, I would do the same. Can also be realted to the host.

So as others have mentioned, it's better to find an instance welcoming this kind of content.

  • I wish I could be excited for this, started looking into it and encountered "Long Rest". And my heart fell. I just can't be bothered with it. It messes with pace, rythm and creates a 5 minute adventuring day.

The Divinity: Original Sins and Pillars of Eternity (especially the second one) shows it is possible to make satisfying tactical games where "encounter resources" regenerate between each encounter. But the long rest us a DnD staple and I would have been surprised if it was gone.

  • Generally things that are easy to pick up and get going again. If I have to try and find a notebook to get back on track I'll leave it for when I have proper time off. Often I put it down to pick it back up months down the line. Games such as the below are usually on my rotation.

    Guild Wars 2

Some ARPG: Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, Diablo

PvE multplayer loot shooter: Deep Rock Galactic, Warframe

  • Hope it's a good a place as any to ask this. I've got an itch for a jrpg in the classic style, but one with modern conveniences.

Never finished FFVI because I put it down and later didn't know where I was nor was doing. Completed Golden Sun I and II, but only with the aid of walkthroughs. Tried a buch of others but don't really remember them.

Edit: Recommendations for a great modern JRPG in the classic style?

  • I wish I would love it. It is a really great game but I cannot make it click for me. Looks great, sounds great, feels great.

But somehow it doesn't work for me. Half the time I feel I have no control and have no idea of how to get it, other half I'm steamrolling things. Worst part is winning fights and it feeling undeserved, like a sloppy brawl.

    Still a great game.
