  • My fault. I moved from Tokyo to the countryside and there's no food delivery so I went from at least once a week down to once a month or less. I'll try harder to think of the profits next time.

Well, I do have to go into town tomorrow for an appointment...

  • I had tons of hours in it. In either a19 or a20, they added these dumb triggers that just spawn an entire world of zombies or open a set of doors with the zombies aggro'd to the player already effectively killing stealth. Worse, there's no way to know about any of this until you're in the POI and getting obliterated. I haven't touched the game since them and was quite angry.

  • Honestly, it'd just go to stuff I need for the house. There's a lot of canning stuff I want but I need to import it from the US (pressure canning isn't a thing here in Japan and even water-bath canning is super rare so supplies are sparse and expensive). I'd also get a chainsaw and wood chipper. I would pay someone to do a full tune-up on my tractor and maybe get a mower attachment. Anything else, I'd basically put in the account that I use to pay my mortgage and for any home expenses.

  • I mostly write 'indexes' these days when I'm not on autopilot, in part since not all of my coworkers have a high English proficiency and just following the normal +(e)s plural makes it easier. My brain really does not want me to write 'matrixes' however (and indeed, my dictionary in this browser is fine with 'indexes' but not 'matrixes'). I also try not to be pedantic with verbs whose irregular forms have become less common than their "incorrect" (at least when I was taught) forms. "Shined" being one of these, but I am sure there are more.

  • I lived in a house in Japan that was a rental. It was about 55sqm + loft with a parking space out front (which became my container garden). It was pretty good for the wife and I with me working from home (so using the 2nd bedroom as an office). I looked at what it would cause to buy a similar house used (far western Tokyo about 1.5 hours to Shinjuku station, neighbors on two sides the legally required 90cm or whatever it was away) -- 50 million yen give or take a bit. Someone might look at the price in USD or EUR or something and think it's not much, but it is for someone getting paid in said yen.

  • I have a pixel watch I bought around its launch (IIRC) and it's still going fine today. The only issue I've had is, since starting farming, the little dial can gum up a bit, but it can be cleaned.

  • I've been using logitech for years and they've all been holding up well for me. The only issue I had was an older trackball mouse design. I owned two and one had some issues but the other lasted almost a decade.

  • I'm in my early 40s and still do a bit. Mostly, between a fulltime job, recently buying a house, and farming, I've not had time to play much. I did start BG3 but moved in the midst of it and haven't touched it in months (I'm at the first hub in whatever act has the darkness.... Act II, maybe?) I'd love to actually go back to playing some of the games I loved from the late '80s and early '90s since some of those are much easier to pick up and put down. I did play a little bit of TF2 again recently after at least 5 years (probably more) of not really playing it. This winter, I might pick BG3 back up in between house projects.

  • https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%B3%E3%83%9C%E3%83%AB%E3%83%88 seems to have a bit of a different approach stating that D&D 3rd ed. changed them to be more reptilian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobold actually seems to corroborate this. I played D&D since the end of the 1st ed. days and I think of them as kinda dog-like heads that were also scaly. I have a 2nd ed. Monstrous Manual, but it's on the other side of the world at the moment so I can't check.

I'm not buying the OP here.
