I completely agree with all of this. Although, there are some outliers within the Democrat ranks (aside from the obvious ones who are all progressive's). I've been watching people like Jamie Raskin, Mark Kelly, Chris Murphy, Adam Schiff, Elizabeth Warren, and even Chuck Schumer (from time to time, and yes, fuck him for playing politics with crucial votes, not a fan of his) consistently fight against the oligarchy in various committee hearings and on the senate floor. I really think people would have a completely different perspective on a lot of sitting dems if they would watch cspan every now and then. That's not an exhaustive list, and again, it doesn't include any of the progressive caucus, who are all badasses. The reason I asked is because I'm growing increasingly tired of the narrative that all dems are seat warmers. A lot of them have been fighting a huge raging oligarchy monster for years and, IMO, that pushback is a growing movement. We just need more people to see that there ARE dem's fighting for working class rights and there IS strong messaging coming from a good chunk of the democrat party. We need to stop lumping them all together and give more support to the ones who are actually fighting for us.

I agree that we shouldn't let the oligarchs divide us, and that there are boomers that haven't been voting towards oligarchy for the past 60 years. But, at the same time, I have a hard time giving any boomers a pass because I think they didn't fight hard enough. The vast majority of them stuck their heads in the sand and stayed there for most of their relatively comfortable lives. They let their government slide further and further towards oligarchy and didn't talk about it because talking politics was considered uncouth.. Or because they're religious and "this earth isn't our eternal home anyways", or some other hand-wavy bullshit. It's very hard for me to not feel betrayed by their collective ignorance and ineptitude.

Can you further explain how Democrat policies make everyone suffer and give legitimacy to fascists? I assume you're talking about old style corpo dems?

A lot of us wage slaves live in areas that are too spread out to bike, have no public transportation, and we can't afford to move to a higher COL area that has those amenities. For example, my commute to work is typically 70ish miles, one way. There aren't better job prospects within my niche industry that are available to me. I'm working towards moving closer to work, but I'll be moving to a smaller town that is even less bike-able/walk-able. IMO, your position requires an amount of privilege I don't have.

Bernie Sanders (AFAIK) has done two 12 hour sessions of this in the past week or so. It feels surreal to watch an American politician at his age show such an impressive feat of stamina and determination to fight for the American people. I'm eternally grateful for that man and his lifelong efforts in working for the interests of the working class.

Why? This is the kind of "reporting" we always see after the US bombs people.

It says the "bad people" are "allegedly" doing something we think might be scary. It aims to plant seeds in our minds that the houthi's are the new terrorist group of the year and our tax dollars need to go towards bombing them out of existence. Personally, I'm tired of the working class funding a war machine, that only serves imperialist interests, while we're left trying to live off of scraps.

Right. The US does 1000x more of this kind of stuff, but we're supposed to read this propaganda piece like "OoOOoh these brown people 10k miles away might be doing something scary! Better support our gov indiscriminately bombing them!"

As a Texan who has lost power, for weeks at a time, 4 times in the last 10 years, I disagree. I live near a major city and we lose power almost every time there's strong wind, rain, or sub-freezing temps. Maybe you're just lucky to live where you live? I've lived all over my city, and it's surrounding suburbs, and it's been pretty much the same everywhere.

How do you propose democratic politicians make legacy media cover their messaging? Can you explain how politicians having no control over legacy media companies is negligence? I'm not following the logic on that one..

I disagree. They're not responsible for the lack of media coverage. If all you watch is legacy media, you're not going to see democratic messaging.

You're not looking. "Now This!" and Cspan are two great YouTube channels for democratic media coverage. Dems are constantly calling Republicans out on stuff. Cspan is extra cool because they post full, unedited hearings so you get to see dems actually try to govern while the alt-righters behave like children, yell, and posture for their 30 second media clips, then sit back down and stare at their phone until it's time to talk again.

IMHO, Democrats have gotten much better with their messaging over the past decade. People just don't pay attention because diligently solving problems with substantial plans that take years to show effects isn't sexy or exciting.

I stay pretty keyed in to what's going on in congress, but I have to put effort into that. It seems like all the algorithms constantly want to shift my content to paying attention to all the crazy shit the GOP is up to and I'm constantly catching and stopping myself from getting sucked into rage porn.

My very christian mom used to always tell me that I'm gay and athiest because it's popular, but that she believed I'm actually a closeted christian. In her opinion, I chose the way I am because christians are so persecuted in the US.. Nevermind that I'm autistic, highly introverted, and have never cared about popularity or pop culture in general. I've been out to my parents for over a decade and she's only recently started to come around on it because I have a fiance now, and she sees how happy he makes me. :)
