  • Maybe blue ball sets off something, or doesn't?

  • Oligarchs & Israel are in charge now. Welcome to your new reality.

  • I mean she did prob sign an agreement saying she wouldn't do it. Not saying she shouldn't try but it is a risky endeavor based on existing case law once you sign an agreement like that. Once a digital version exists though not much they can do to stop it circulating, except sue her for everything.

  • That's not how vaccinations work, and FYI around 3% of those that received 2 doses of the vaccine are still susceptible to getting it. So people in any state can still get measles & even those that have been vaccinated.

  • Give it time. Before long you'll see articles about how we need to ban encryption to help Ukraine fight Russia & Democrats will support it cause that is how clueless many of them are.

  • Musk looks like Sam Altman aged 20 years.

  • Looks like Israel is in charge of the world stage afterall.

  • This 100%. Trump & his apparatus has been floating in exchange for a deal that Zelensky must resign & hold elections. Musk is already prepping his botfarm to get Ukraine to vote for the Russian asset.

  • Why would they arrest the person US politicians love the most?

  • Zelensky is making a big mistake by catering to Trump. I know he doesn't have much choice, but I totally see Trump prepping to help with a Ukraine-government takeover by a Russian asset before long.

  • This isn't the first you're hearing about this is it? The court documents are on CourtListener. Law&Crime Network did a video about it too:

    https://youtu.be/WaiYfBdhs98

  • From a country that arrests people for burning the Quran & protesting Israel... I seriously doubt they've learned anything.

  • They prosecuted & charged him still. Despite being sick what he did, it is good that even under Trump he is still getting charged.

  • People keep underestimating the power of disinformation and how quickly it takes root, but how even harder it is to deprogram.

Disinformation is powerful. But is it just antivax & flat earth? Biden's cognitive issues were apparent long before the debate. Do you remember when Republicans were calling on the DoJ to release audio of Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. Hur, in his report, concluded that Biden should not face criminal charges over his mishandling of documents but also impugned the president’s age and competence. Republicans argued that it would at least show proof of serious cognitive decline which was important to know about the President.

What did Democrats do at the time? They ran cover for Biden. They claimed he was young & dynamic behind the scenes like the Wizard of Oz. Karine Jean-Pierre lied time & time again. Merrick Garland ignored a subpoena & was held in contempt. All leading up to the debate where Biden's cognitive decline was so obvious that he was later basically forced to drop out because everyone realized they had been lied to. At a time of a fascist potentially getting elected as they claimed, Biden & his team decided to lie to you which ultimately helped Trump significantly. Now imagine a different scenario where the audio got released much sooner, the people found out much sooner & a new candidate was picked to replace Biden much sooner.

The point is that disinformation goes both ways. Having an authority to declare what is true/untrue provides a centralized system for a fascist then use to control what is true/false. Now there are some avenues that you could take if you wanted to. You could study law & find justification to bring a case against Musk for manipulating social media. You could get to discovery & provide evidence, and get a court to even make a ruling requiring that every time someone visits X they get a notice about what was determined. But deciding what people can/can't see cause you don't think they can decide for themselves I believe sets too dangerous of prescedent.

  • It is in my mind very misleading to try to use an analogy with Bernie Sanders. Sanders, AFAIK, is not interested in upheaving democracy or selling out the country to Russia. This is fundamentally different from many current far-right parties in Eastern Europe.

I think you're forgetting a little bit of history bud:

  • But if one can do it without being caught or attacked, like the two people who punched Richard Spenser, then it is an effective way to counter the rise of Nazism.

All this does is bolster fascism. Punching people for being non-violent fuels their world views, not help them trust yours. Maybe engage in some peaceful discourse. You're actually the one instigating violence here. You have the same attitude of cops shooting unarmed people.

  • Education hasn’t worked seeing how fascism has successfully taken hold through american social media, and no transparency over algorithms.

This is because the very same people that were pro-oligarchy were previously seen by the left as being friendlies that they should entrust because of their big dollar donations. It is time to take money out of politics. I didn't say you shouldn't regulate social media, especially transparency of the code & algorithms.

And it’s not like only dumb uneducated people who have been lured into it. Those with educated backgrounds are just as easily influenced. That there are antivax nurses tells you everything there is to know about how effective education is.

I've known plenty of dumb nurses even before the pandemic. I've known alcoholic ones, drug-addicted ones, etc. To blame it on social media is ignoring everything else. Let's not forget the number of nurses & even doctors that believe in a magical sky creature controlling what happens on Earth.

  • You're right & if people don't listen then I have a feeling Canada will end up a lot like America now under Trump.

  • This is the most reasonable assessment in my opinion. The very same people down voting you would go apeshit if the Supreme Court barred what they deemed a far left candidate. If people don't like right-wing politicians then they should demand a candidate passionate about popular policies to oppose them. However barring or attempting to, like Democrats did with Bernie, & has other candidates during debates & on the ballots, helped give us Trump.
