What would it take for you to stop using the internet or go minimalist on the usage?

  • I already actively avoid the shithole that is YouTube, as in I refuse to follow a link if it's YouTube and Google another path for what I need. Stopped Reddit, my only social media app last June, and now only on Lemmy a couple, the times per week. 5-10 years ago I used to complain about how bad Google was getting, little did I know how truly useless it would get.

    In humans a 12 month OS change from 35-40% to 65% is impressive. I would be super excited about a therapy for my pup that would add 6 months to my pup's life. The median survival improvement from 307 days to 478 days is enough for me to ask for that therapy instead of chemo and amputation for my pup's osteosarcoma or other HER2 driven cancers.

  • For anyone interested, just Google "stereoscopic dissecting microscope used". The 'used' part is to makes it less expensive. They can cost a lot. I used to use my lab sonicator water bath to clean my jewelry, and our dissecting scope to check the jewelry to make sure all the skin crud is gone from every crevice.
