The fact that your comment doesn't seem outlandishly calloused tells you how bad the state of affairs is. I work in education in Texas and often feel like I'm just waiting for my turn to catch a bullet.

Guarantee you they're waiting for enough general pushback on the financial costs so that they can suggest gas chambers as a compromise

Hard reboots/power cycling are gonna be a real pain in the ass. ETA: I just got served either the same question twice (with a different question between each time), or found duplicate questions. If the same question twice, I'd be concerned about individuals skewing results. If a duplicate question is being submitted, it might be helpful (albeit slower) to run word matches against strings and then check the IP address of the submitter (if you record that) on anything with over 90% match and then let that user know they've already submitted this question.

Just a friendly reminder that Philips continued manufacturing CPAPs with a sound dampening foam after learning that the foam caused lung cancer. They covered this up for years and killed/ruined the lives of a number of their customers.

Even after the coverup was discovered, the Dutch government determined that they were dragging their feet on their recall affecting millions of customers. The government also accused Philips of a pattern of not taking recalls seriously.

Sorry for referencing this garbage website, but they're one of the most comprehensive sources of how ghoulishly Philips treated the discovery that they were harming and killing vulnerable customers.
