  • Sure, but I prefer running bare metal also I then can move it around between various computers. Each one is used a regular system, just different purposes. So, running in a virtual machine doesn't make much sense for me. I'll use nothing but openbsd for a week, then I'll swap over to arch to play some games, then I go into gentoo or something else for whatever other task I'm feeling.

  • I have installed it maybe 5 times now manually. These days I do a script install then mod whatever I need to afterwards. This time I'm experimenting with binaries by converting the whole system to a bin system. It's a good bit quicker and a little easier to manage. The few things I need to configure get done so through source, but most things are fine as a bin package.

  • Anytime I tell my girlfriend jokes like this she's gives me the "God, you're a fucking nerd" sigh. This past weekend she made pokes at me cause I found a really nice printing of Plato's Republic for 50 cents at a thrift store.

  • A few months ago I saw a guy at the gas station that looked like the girls from the Windowlicker video, minus boobs of course. He was frightening and made me fear Death for a brief moment. Anyways, new EP is really good and I'm hoping we get a new full length soon.

  • For me, I don't care if the software is rough as long as the drivers work. The amd apps were annoying when I was doing things in Windows, but after I got my updates I closed it all out. I don't plan on interacting with them much.

  • I started using linux when I had an nvidia gpu, it worked alright enough. Not many drivers issues, most of my issues were age related for the gpu itself. I did swap to all AMD hardware for my new computer. The swap to AMD is nice. I did upgrade everything from my previous stuff, so no matter what I expected an increase of performance. I do notice that my resource usage is lower and general speed for mundane tasks is better.
