  • I don't know about a majority, but I lived through that as a young adult and I'd believe it if at least 51% of the US population bought the Iraq WMD crap. Colin Powell was a well respected military leader and political moderate and he cashed in all of his influence to sell the lies to Congress and the population.

  • When VC and PE call a company or industry "mature" it means they don't see increasing revenue, only something to be sucked dry and sold for parts. To them, consistent revenue is worthless, it must be skyrocketing or nothing. If you want to see this in action right now, look what Broadcom is doing to VMWare. They also saw VMWare as a "mature company".

  • They lack unity and any sort of definitive leadership. They're a rudderless ship in a storm. What consensus they can muster among the older ranks is to not upset their wealthy donors, so any chance of creating a policy to invigorate the working class is out of the question. Any policy that is good for the working class will tap the brakes on the unfettered looting being done by the ruling class, so that's a no starter for the establishment Democrats.

  • When the legal system is rigged to allow corporations to exploit and extort the average citizen this is the one of the few avenues we have left. If I kill a person, I go to jail. If a healthcare CEO generates record profits by denying care to people who have paid into the system, he's protected from his actions by corporate law, and even rewarded with large sums of money.

I understand your point, but it's based on the false assumption that we live in a just, single tiered justice system

  • The old model was named the Long Life Vehicle (LLV) for a reason. Ugly for sure, but rock sold. Designed in an era when the main concern was to last 6 digits on the odometer, powered by the iron duke engine. Moderately efficient at the time of its design in the late 70s, but absolutely dependable.

  • A former company I used to work for has a nationally renound land and wildlife conservation department that draws internship applicants by the hundreds. They were unpaid but had agreements with the students schools where they earned credit hours as well as references for future employers.
