  • It's a one bad guy taking area from 3 other bad guys.

If anyone is funding it is Turkey.

While I'm glad Russia and Iran are losing grip I'm not excited about the replacement either. I'm glad that it is hurting their power though.

  • It was the standard "terrible tragedy" blah blah "thoughts and prayers".

The actual message we saw was from Trump Jr "Internet do your thing, let's find this guy".

The new president elect so far nominated 14 billionaires in his cabinet (do you think they are there to improve our lives?) yet OP tries to imply that Democrats are pro oligarchs, as we are about to have oligarchs ruling is from the "anti-establishment" president.

Want to fight injustice, maybe start with those.

  • On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons From the 20th Century by Prof. Timothy Snyder is a very relevant book that everyone should read. It is actually short.

The most important lesson is to not obey in advance. If people just give up and accept their new changes, that's really all they need.

We can't just wait it out, we also need to resist and support anyone that resist it.

The author also reads the book on his YouTube channel.

  • Ok so 124 victims of gun violence in Minnesota in 2023 without any context. It could be gang violence, shot by police, suicide etc. When you say somebody didn't comment about someone else's death you would know the victim name and some background story what happened.

  • He sent this tweet two hours after the incident. No one knew at the time what were the motivations behind it. All they knew at the time was that CEO of subsidary headquartered in Minnesota was shot (by accident or otherwise) and that was it. We later learned the rest.

What were the gun related deaths that weren't tweeted about?

By all means I don't feel sorry for this guy, I agree with the sentiment, but I don't want politicians to be the ones asking to murder someone. I want them to regulate, so killing people this way is not possible.

  • Meanwhile the other party selects billionaires as cabinet members.

He and Kobluchar responded, because the guy was from their state, so they felt they should say something. The fact that they are attacked solely because they weren't making death threats is mind blowing. Their job as politicians is to put regulations to thwart these practices, not kill people.

You can have your own opinion about the CEO, but you don't want politicians resolve problems by killing people. We saw this in Germany in 30s and 40s.

  • Ironically, he wasn't even the most paid among other healthcare CEOs.

I don't feel sorry for him, as making money on misfortune of others is very low.

Though there are even worse people, and not necessarily in insurance industry.

The serial impregnator of everything that moves now is interested to influence our government to cut "unnecessary" spending, which likely will hurt much more people.

  • I initially was thinking that people were just aggressive about him, because of the insurance companies and not necessarily what he did, especially since he was CEO for 3 years, but looks like UH had rejections in single digit and after he took over they jumped to over 20%

I understand the outrage though. While some rejections could be people asking for things that are not necessary, for example Ozempic if one doesn't have diabetes, many of those affect quality of life for millions of people and even affect of they can live or die.

It is absolutely horrible and unethical to make money on misfortune of others.

  • It shouldn't matter it is a scumbag or not. Either the report exonerates him, or he wasn't acting ethically which we should know about. Either way there should be no discussion whether or should be released or not.

The fact that this is debated, says that there major ethical issues among people deciding about it.

  • Yeah, I believe he mentioned that play in this book. In Road to Unfreedom book he also mentions how LGBT basically took place of Jews. It tries to frame itself as it is for traditional Christian values, in reality it is just fascism that tries to use religion. Fascism needs an enemy, and this one is easy to attack.
