  • The homes didn't go anywhere. They don't exist. Developers basically stopped building enough homes in 2008. Since then the population growth has vastly outpaced the number of homes being built. Now we're years away from having enough housing because it takes time to catch up building them. Unfortunately prices are not going to significantly drop any time soon.

  • Yeah it all comes down to a shortage of homes. The bubble popped around 2008 and construction of new homes stopped. Ever since then we haven't been building enough homes, so there is a shortage driving up prices. Until we make more places to live, home prices will be outrageous.

  • The DC courts had a bullet proof response already. SCOTUS should have let that stand and denied to hear any part of the immunity issue. That's what all the legal experts expected because it's the obvious correct choice.

Instead SCOTUS broadened the question and added more things to rule on than what the DC appeals court stated in their ruling. That's not how law is supposed to work.

The conservative majority is forcing this to delay the DC case. There is little to no chance the DC trial finishes before the election - as a direct result of the Supreme Court's decision here.

The Supreme Court decided Bush v Gore in a matter of days, but we're waiting several weeks before they even start listening to immunity arguments? It's bullshit. The delay is the point.

  • Just saw a post on Lemmy a few days ago about Hamas raping people.

For anyone sick of NYT, CNN, etc acting "neutral" or even "left leaning" while clearly carrying water for conservative politics, check out Medias Touch Network YouTube and podcasts.

Mueller She Wrote media is another good source for political news.

  • I picked up a used Bucky O Hare NES cartridge for $8 back around 2000. Had no idea what the game was, but the picture on the cartridge was ridiculous. Now it sells for $150-$200 on eBay. More like $600 if you have the box and manual.

Also have Sparkster for Sega Genesis including the box and manual which sells for around $400.

I have a handful of games like that. They were either bought new when I was a kid in the 90s or I bought them cheap in the 2000s. I might sell them when I'm 80.

  • They scheduled the next stuff to happen toward the end of April. That's not fast. It nearly guarantees the case won't happen before the election. It won't happen at all after the election unless Biden wins. The Supreme Court fucked us here, and they absolutely know that.
