  • Depends what I'm doing, where and how. I do use tmux everywhere though but at home xfce-terminal, At work I tend to use terminator for the wonders of group control but if connecting from a windows pc i'll be on windows-terminal.

For shell I try to use zsh everywhere with p10k and omz.

  • Gnome to me was like a DE trying really hard to be like Mac, I don't want that. I didn't want any of what Gnome 3 was offering and I still don't.

I have a Debian VM that I jump into to try out latest KDE and Gnome just to see how things are and I honestly do not want what Gnome is still trying to offer.

So I'd happily shit on it and then find that corner of it to hook out the remaining crap from my butt cheeks.

I'm glad you like it, but allow other to have their own opinion without making the assumption that people have simply not used it and that's why they dislike it so hard.

  • Rags like the metro are already running the obvious anti subject articles that chose to discredit rather than investigate and report.

So I guess it wont be long until the daily fail and others join in with this line.

  • I did similar by trying to cook a curry with fresh spices. I just turned off the hob and took my wife to the pub, after a meal and 3 pints each about 4 hours had past and we felt it was safe to return.

I covered the pot after mixing it all together and let it cook on very low heat over night, turned out really nice but the gas I first created left a curry smell that lingered for a few months according to visitors Lmfao.

  • Glad to see my Brit pride still gets lowered by the day. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  • I wish it gave the option to install without dracut as I have no need for it and am unsure how to safely remove it along with residual configs etc.

  • I use an encrypted folder on my phone, PC and cloud drive. Within this is a zip file that's also aes256 encrypted by using 7-zip, in here is just a text file with my recovery codes listed out in groups.

If you have a lot I guess you could swap the txt file for a spreadsheet or even an sqllite DB

  • I used this for awhile but it's more of a framework that requires vcredist and a local install of pwaforff binary to work around the short comings of mozilla pulling the plumbing out of the browser.

It's a good workaround can have it's issues when one part receives an update that the rest isn't aware of.

  • Sorry but the less electron in my life the better.

I see no need for ferdium if you have a good browser. It's just something else picking up more mozilla shortfalls.

  • Well TiL some programming terminology.

    Thanks

  • This just changes the OS chrome on a browser tab right ?

No this just opens the website in it's own window so it looks similar to an electron app, another way to do this is to open chrome://apps, drag any bookmark to this window/tab and right click to create icons.

It does nothing to the "OS" of the browser.

  • I use brave and this is built in and still gives me the protections offered by Brave.

    What protections does this offer?

Additionally I see mention of electron in the code!!!!!!!!!

  • What's the Firefox equivalent to:

    Brave.exe --app="http://lemmy.world"

I use this a lot as I detest electron based applications. Mozilla dropped prism years ago and before that there was xulrunner and you cant open a JavaScript popup window without clicking a bookmark.

When Firefox has this very basic function perhaps I'll consider moving.

  • Can someone post the article content plz?

  • Oh man, this is just beautiful.

It's like, what fukddit should've been all along.

  • Bitwarden+vaultwarden server = free enterprise access ๐Ÿ‘

  • I came across this article way back when I was searching for a true to the name USB-C hub in that a device that gives you more than 1 usb-c socket!

When I read the article I gave up searching for them and now refuse to by anything that resembles a USB-C hub due to this article and the lack of true to the name USB-C hubs.

    I have a bunch of USB-A to C adaptors and a USB-A self powered hub that gives me 7 USB-A ports ๐Ÿ‘

  • Hang on, The name has not been released of the presenter so how does this second young person know it's the same presenter or does this young person know the first?

And why is the first young person saying nothing was wrong with the messages received and wants to drop it?

Somethings not adding up here to me.

I really need to fully read before scanning an article lol

  • Go to whichever comment/post on a lemmy instance you're trying to comment on and copy the link in that little colorful icon below/above the comment/post (that's the fediverse icon and the fediverse-wide interoperable link).

Then just paste that into your search field on your mastodon instance, and the rest is self-explanatory from there.

  • As a 49 year old IT worker I think you guessed well lol.
