  • Calibre can integrate with Piper, so any document that can be opened with its ebook viewer can be read aloud.

  • It's more similar to tor than a vpn.

  • Figure out what qualities you want in an OS, pick out a few distros that have those qualities, and make usb sticks that you can live boot. Use each one as though it was your actual system for a few days and get a feel for it. Then install the one that you like best, or go back to the drawing board. But pick one that suits you, not one that meets someone else's needs.

  • There are already several forks that are fairly popular.

  • I loved 1. I didn't like 2 when it was first released, but after a while it grew on me. I'd like to go back and play the expansions I never got to, but the 3rd guy in our group died and it just wouldn't feel right to play without him.

  • I think it depends on the diet and body composition, as well as how long they've been dead and under what climate conditions. Some smell sweet or fruity. Some smell, like, dusty. The way an old crypt smells. Some have a sour or rancid smell.

  • I like PodAura. It doesn't have as many features as AntennaPod, including discovery, but it has the ones that are useful to me, and I like the layout.

  • The Cat Lady is one I'd say stands out to me.

  • Covering windows doesn't do that much. The big dangers are the wind ripping the roof off, large trees being blown onto the house, and floodwaters rising above the level of the ground floor. I think windows breaking is more of a concern with tornadoes.

  • It would be interesting to experience life 500 years ago just for the difference in perspective. It would be a lot of pressure, though.

  • Yep. I used to work in a store where people would ask if some specific food or drink could be paid for by food stamps/EBT all the time. I was like, idk, lets run it and see. 50/50 chance you can buy anything, and no explanation for what's covered and what isn't. It sucks to tell someone they can't buy their favorite food for their birthday.

  • My insurer just announced that the addiction counseling service that used to be provided for free to members is going away. Is addiction no longer a medical issue?

  • When children are kidnapped, the kidnapper is most often a family member. It happened to a good friend of mine. I don't see what good cell phone location tracking really does against that, though. A kidnapper can simply take a child's phone away and toss it.

  • I've never heard of children putting an ice pack in their lunchbox. No one did this when I was in school.

  • In my experience, regular police or sheriffs' deputies can still see details of "expunged" court cases in their system.
